How do I unblock a phone number

You can find the procedure in the programming section of the manual. Look for "Viewing/editing/erasing call block numbers" The Panasonic KX-TGEA20 model number crosses to the additional handsets for your cordless phone, but these handsets are compatible with the TGEA-21X through the -27X series base units. If the [MENU] # code sequence is different you will have to share your exact model number.

The Quick -n- Dir(ect) answer is:
    1.[MENU] #-2-1-7
    2.<Navigator key "up/down" arrows> to "Block a single number" ? [SELECT]
    3.<Navigator key up/down arrows> to highlight/select the desired entry.
This should offer you the choice to edit or erase, so choose...
4.[ERASE] ? <Navigator key up/down arrow> to "Yes" to confirm your action? [SELECT]? [OFF] The number should no longer be on the "Blocked" list if you go back in and start from step 1 (above).

If you have lost your original manual you can get a replacement from the Panasonic FTP site here:

Does the Dect 6.0 recognize when a phone number needs a 1 before the area code (1-800-.......)?   I entered some numbers with the required 1, and some without it.  All the calls went through.   In a few...

If you save from caller ID to the phone book from an out of area code number, the manual doesn't tell you that you have press the * key while the number is displayed and it will insert a 1 before the area code. Do this before trying to call from caller ID or copying the number to the phone book. I had to delete the area code stored in the global set up to get the caller the "*" feature to work for my local calls other wise it would just put a 1 in before the 7 digit number and would not work when it is store.

After calling Panasonic US at 1800-211-PANA (7262) regarding my kx-tga5420 and kx-tg5230 system's handsets.

Exit the menu

On the handset main display
Hit the button that relates to CID
Scroll down until you find the desired 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx number that you want to
be displayed as xxx-xxx-xxxx
Hit the edit key until you see the number displayed as xxx-xxx-xxxx
Save
(Note: You have to initial a call once you have saved the change.)

Now hit the TALK button to dial this number

Now when you receive calls from this number it wll show as xxx-xxx-xxxx instead of 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx.

One one ring tone with incoming call..........

Make sure the ringer is on .
• Make sure the telephone line cord and power adapter are plugged in properly .
• The cordless handset may be too far from the telephone base. Move it closer to the telephone
base.
• There may be too many extension telephones on the telephone line to allow all of them to ring
simultaneously. Try unplugging some of them.
• If the other telephones in your home are having the same problem, the problem is in the wiring
or local service. Contact the local telephone company (charges may apply).
• Other electronic products can cause interference to your cordless telephone. Try installing your
telephone as far away as possible from the following electronic devices: wireless routers, radios,
radio towers, pager towers, cellular telephones, digital telephones, intercoms, room monitors,
televisions, VCRs, personal computers, kitchen appliances, and other cordless telephones.
• Test a working telephone at the telephone jack. If another telephone has the same problem, the
problem is in the telephone jack. Contact your local telephone company (charges may apply).
• The telephone line cord might be malfunctioning. Try installing a new telephone line cord.
• Remove and re-insert the battery and place the cordless handset in the telephone base.
• Wait for the cordless handset to synchronize with the telephone base. Allow up to one minute
for this to take place.
