My sony vaio eb (e series) wont turn on, the power button flashes green! PLEASE HELP!

test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive SATA

the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty

even something as small as faulty fan lead can cause you problems

computers need all of the data and power to travel through every working device and to have an end for a computer to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive check all power and data leads make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd drives need to have current go through make sure these devices are working

check the CPU central processing unit make sure it has thermal paste and dust free secure seating

also check your computer ram modules and cmos battery make sure it has charge and they are dust free and securely seated some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

hope it helps

My VAIO doesnt seem to charge up when connected to the power supply button at times it works then power depletes very quickly.

How long did your Sony VAIO battery been used? Li-ion battery's life is about 2 years. And you can do a battery capacity correction by your VAIO's Battery management software and to see that if the problem get better. else you need a new Sony VAIO battery.

My sony vaio PCG-71211L was plugged in and charging when it was dropped. It landed on the power plug that was connected to the computer, and now will not charge. I've read that the power port may need...

First of all PCG-71211L is not the model # of the VAIO computer, it is the hardware configuration code. Based on the hardware configuration code your model # must belong to VPCEB1 series computers.

As per Sony policy, if the parts are not customer replaceable, the information about the parts will not be published on their website.

I wold suggest that you call the Sony parts center at:
1-800-488-SONY (7669) and check for availability of the parts there.

If you get a positive response, it is good, otherwise let me know, I will search further for you and will get you the part number.

Thanks!!!!

At times my sony vaio laptop turns itself off

The Sony VAIO CS-series Computer model has a known issue with its fan. If the fan is making abnormally loud noise and causing the Computer to shut off then service will be required. You can contact Sony Service Center to get the Computer repaired.

However, if the fan is not making loud noise but the Computer is shutting off automatically then possibly it may be a virus or the failure of the power supply unit. In this case, you may run complete system scan using an updated Antivirus program such as Norton to check for any potential threat. Furthermore, you can perform the C: Drive Restore using the VAIO Recovery Center or complete System recovery using the Recovery disc to ensure that the issue is not related to Software.

Follow the instructions given in the link below to access and use the various features of the VAIO Recovery Center:

http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C1001992

Click on the sublinks given in the blue text on the page to view further information.

If the issue persists even after system recovery then the problem is related to the power supply unit.

Power chord problem

(1) Does the machine work with the cord plugged, if so it is the battery or the charger circuit at fault

(2) If it does not work then there is either a break in the cable where it enters the plug which plugs into the back of the laptop or the power supply has failed
