My hitachi 55FX48B suddenly turned off.Power light is not on.Removed back cover. No LED's lit.Unplugged power,plugged in. LED's lit up brightly momentarily then went very dull.TV did not come on. thks

With set unplugged remove rear cover and follow the power cord to the fuse--good or bad? This set should also have some led lights there that are green or red---look to see if any are lit or if when plugged in with back removed which come on or go off instantly, the reason I ask is those are each tied to a voltage source and will point to where the problem MAY be.
velvel535, since you do get the other led's to light up it could be that you have an operable power supply and the problem is more than likely in the horizontal deflection circuit' a shorted h.o.transistor or components related to it.If the tv does have a good power supply you will hear some kind of noise when you push the power key though this is not a sure indicator of a good power supply. some repair costs for a horiz out problem can run up to 290 dolls depending on the problem.Please leave positive feedback if i answered your question.thanks!

Do you get Led light? Open back and see if you see Diodes light, which number lights tells what is wrong with set. Most of the time on this one either sound problems or Convergence amp problems.
