Black smudgy streak in middle of printed page

It turned out to be a problem with the fuser unit, the roller had become torn. We replaced the unit only for that one to become torn also, so we called in a printer engineer to have a look.

At some stage paper had been misfed through the manual tray and had loosened the roller sensors inside, as a result papaer was getting stuck on the fuser. The paper being forced against the fuser knocked one if the arms which in turn tore the fuser roller and resulted in the printing problems. The engineer fixed the roller sensor and we installed a new fuser.
