Sometimes show 2.4Ghz celeron Processor and sometime 1.86A

I have D845GVFNL Mother Board and 2.4Ghz Celeron D Processor but sometimes it show 2.4 and sometimes 1.86A. I troubleshout all possibilities but fail,,,

Check your bios setup.
what os you are using?
try to use original windows

Run Intel's Processor Identification Utility Pentium D- Bootable Version. You will need to pick your OS.

If your over clocking the CPU, don't. Check your bios settings

Try to control your computer coolers, processor cooler should be rolling easy, power supply too. Also your computer can have a lot of dust in processor or power supply, so clean it with compressor if you can.

I have an intel celeron 1.79 GHZ on my dimension 2350,what is the better processor for upgrade? and is there something else that i should change inside for the new processor?


you said that you want to upgrade ur 1.79ghz celeron cpu.

to upgrade a cpu just check that the packaging of the new cpu matches with the motherboard.
and also check that the motherboard supports the new cpu that you are installing. check this in the manufactures site.

New procesor not work


you might check the jumper for processor settings, maybe the jumper is not set to celeron? if it is working using the intel pentium check the specification of the mother board if you can use the celeron processor.

hi reason y it wouldn't start is because the 2 is not compatible, what u can do is get a Intel P4 not a celeronD check the socket size and make sure that it correspond with the board that u have. The board that u have uses a 478 socket size so u need to get a processor with the same socket size ok... that should do the trick
