The amplifier section of my Grundig 3400 is not working. Checking on the amplifier section I found two Transstors bad and replaced it with BD433 and BD434, However it still neddssome work and I cannot release the amplifier section. It looks like a screw holds it back in the middle of the right side, which I cannot find. Could you show me how to release the amplifier section without breaking the plastic hold? I am in Venezuela about 5000 miles and two borders from any repair station.
Thank you for your kind help.

hello, this problem can be solve by opening the receiver and check for dry soldering on the audio section of the printed circuit board, resolder if found any. Also check for electrolyte capacitor if they are faulty by using an ohmmeter to read the faulty. Good luck.....
I am afraid the entire circuit board is screwed this happens because you have shorted the device by interchanging the + and - terminals. You will need to replace it.. It has happened once with me too..
Its probably time to just replace it. They are not worth repairing. If you contact XM customer service they may offer you one at a discount. They replaced one of mine for $20. I thought that was a fair deal.
I brought it a while back, almost two years ago, for some $65. But it is not worth it to buy this remote to me. The reason is the power consumption of this remote. It eat up power so fast, that I get tired of replacing the batteries. Otherwise it is an OK remote. So I was lucky to have found that this remote would trigger the control amp. Not too many other universal remote will. eBay has them. I have the same exact problem. I took a small needle nose pliers and pressed the antenna connection on the TAO radio. I put it back into the cradle of my Altec Lansing amplified speakers. It works again. For how long we will see.
