I'm having a problem with my Pioneer DV-333 player and was wondering if someone could help me out with troubleshooting. This is not the discs as it happens with all of them.
When I put in the disc and push play, I get the Pioneer logo on the TV but instead of going into the movie there is a whirring from the tray and I just get a blue screen on the TV. The loading indicator on the front of the player will go off and on and keep trying to load the movie, but no luck.
I found a procedure for resetting the player on the Pioneer web (pressing the stop, pause, and skip reverse concurrently) but that doesn't fix it either.
I am able to play VCD and CD but DVD's.
Anyone have a similar problem or any ideas, or do I just have a doorstop.
The optics responsible for DVD media playback, which are seperate from the optics to playback cd media, has failed. Usually cheaper to replace, the repairs would run close to $100US.

While this unit worked fine for the first year, it now has an annoying problem. With (it seems) any DVD, after about 25 minutes of play, the audio starts to clip in and out. The picture is fine. Any ideas?
