Remove the handle, disassemble the lower section of the top to get to the heater. Make sure the unit is unplugged! Use miniature bottle brushes like the painters use to clean paint sprayers (I purchased mine from Harbor Freight for about $4) and clean out the ports. Also check the valve that the trigger opens. It is located just above the heater.

Testimonial: "Thanks for the advice. Sure enough, one of the hose ports was clogged. This saved me at least $85. "

I have proheat clearview and the water would spray through hose but not at the bottom and the port to the heater was clogged, cleaned it with a toothpick works great.

Hi my Bissell pro heat 2x the brushes don't turn and nothing come out like the water what to do

Bissell 2X machines are famous for this. The brushes not turning is probably just a broken belt but the not spraying is a bad solenoid. I've never seen a 2X that didn't fail after about 6- 8 uses
tip

How To Fix Your Bissell Carpet Cleaner When Solution Doesn't Spray

If you have a Bissell Carpet Cleaner, and you're machine is not spraying water on the floor, there are several things that might be causing this. Here's a list of possible problems that might be causing the machine not to spray water:

It may be a problem with your pump belt. Bissell Carpet Cleaners use a belt that powers the pump to spray solution out. There are also a few other possible issues, but as a Bissell warranty station, the belt going bad out-numbers all other problems.

Remove the belt access door and inspect the pump belt to ensure it is not broken, worn or stretched. You may also check the belt by turning on the power and watching the brush on the bottom of the machine. If the brush rotates the belt is not broken.

If your belt is worn out or broken, here's a direct link to that belt on our website:
Bissell Pro-Heat, Pro-Heat 2 6960W Replacement Pump & Brush Belts

Here's a great video that will show you how to check, and replace the pump belt on your ProHeat carpet cleaner:

If this was not the problem, here are some other things that you may check:

  • Make sure there is liquid in both the Tank-in-Tank and the SmartMix bottle. Both tanks must contain fluid or the machine will not spray properly.
  • Check for proper placement of the o-ring on the SmartMix Cap Insert (some o-rings are detachable and need to fit over the straw; others are molded to the cap).
  • Check for liquid in the base of the machine where the SmartMix Bottle sits (SmartMix Reservoir). If there is no liquid in the reservoir, the neck on the SmartMix Bottle may be undersized and the cap will not make proper contact with the unit. If there is no liquid present, you will need a replacement SmartMix Bottle.
  • Check for the black or red tank gasket on the SmartMix Bottle Cap and on the bottom of the Tank-in-Tank Assembly. If gasket is lodged in base of unit or has been lost, reattach gasket on auto-load or order new gasket if appropriate.
  • Check the valves on the bottoms of the Tank-in-Tank and SmartMix Bottle to make sure water/solution will come through when the "x" valve is depressed. (Bladder or SmartMix bottle may be empty or the valve may be blocked internally.) Use a soft-bristled brush and hot tap water to clear any debris. Replace autoload assembly or cap/insert if necessary.
  • Check if the small rounded window tabs on the top edge of the Floor Nozzle are locked in their mating slots on the base of the machine, and not inadvertently lifting the tank up out of place.

If these suggestions have not resolved the problem you are experiencing with your machine, you might want take your machine to a local BISSELL Authorized Service Center. I really hope that this information was helpful to you. Bissell pro heat wont spray water

Hi, it's Allie from Crucial Vacuum!

Your Bissell ProHeat 25A3 may have stopped spraying water for several reasons. Make sure the bladder or water tank of your unit is filled with water properly and that the 2-in-1 tank has been placed properly.

If the water tank/bladder is filled and the 2-in-1 tank is placed properly, your unit's pump may have lost prime, to check this turn your unit's power off and hold spray trigger for 30 seconds. Turn the machine back on and check the spray flow.

Another thing that may not be allowing your unit to spray properly or spray at all is having a clogged solution filter and may need to be cleaned.

Last, your unit's pump belt may be broken. To replace, turn off your unit and unplug from any electrical outlet. Use a flat head screwdriver into the slot of the belt access door to release where you should have access to your unit's pump belt.

You can purchase direct your replacement belts from Crucial Vacuum with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for Fixya.com readers, use code: FIXYA10

Bissell pro heat steam carpet cleaner, not releasing water.

That means that you need to replace the pump belt. Here is the belt you need and a manual you can view:

Bissell

Check the pump belt, just take that small door of and you can see the belt. If it looks ok, then probably need a new pump.

No spray

pump part number is 2107181, the diverter valve # 2136988. You can Bissell and they can tell you who may have parts near you, or you maybe able to order thru Bissell.com. Before you took it apart, were you getting water to spray out of the hose. If you were the the heater is plugged and won't allow water to spray out the bottom.
