PRESS LIGHTLY ON THE SCREEN. IS THERE A SLIGHT DISCOLORATION? IF SO THE PANEL IS ON AND YOU PROBABLY HAVE A MAIN BOARD ISSUE. IF NOT THE POWER SUPPLY, INVERTER BOARD OR PANEL IS THE ISSUE.

If you wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. Why is my LG 32LC7D TV taking 5 minutes to have a picture when turning on.?

Likely signs of a issue that is going to only get worse---could be in power supply of set (first place to look) or could be main board or something that it controls.

Kind of like "My car runs rough when cold" it is a issue that is not full blown yet.

Unable to get sound on chanel 5 of my 19"

that issue is related to the televison channel itself or your cable provider. If its cable call them and tell them about it, they will come and fix it. If it is Dish Network or other provider the same holds true.

It sounds like you have full screen closed caption turned on. Turn of closed caption and that should clear it up.
