I broke the LCD screen on my remote. However, no one seems to stock or be able to order a new screen. Where in the world do I purchase a LCD screen for this remote. I'm in Australia, but am happy to freight from anywhere.
I contacted Logitech support (email) and detailed my problem. After 4-5 disappointing back-and-forths (Logitech claiming their limited warranty didn't cover "damages", I claimed weak design that is/should be covered) I thought I was getting nowhere. But I kept on 'em, and was then asked to send a picture of the remote. To my surprise they replied: "Based on the image we have decided to replace the remote."
If you're still under warranty and think it covers your problem, keep on 'em and don't give up.
I have the same problem, took it apart. The LCD is soldered to the MB of the remote, it is also glued to the backside of it. It would be impossible to replace. The entire board would have to be replaced. Luckily i bought mine from Tiger Direct 2 weeks ago and they are willing to do an exchange. Good Luck Guys!!

Unfortunately, the Harmony 890 and 880 chargers have a design flaw that makes the remote slowly become unable to charge. One way that I get around this with my Harmony 880 is to attach an elastic band around the remote when it is in the charger, so that it does not lose contact. You can also purchase one of the new chargers (Logitech redesigned them) for about 10 bucks US. You can order it by calling the Logitech sales line which is 1-800-231-7717.
If you just bought it - return it... It's pretty difficult to get body parts for a remote, even one so sophisticated as that with it's own lcd screen area. Besides, you're probably going to be a bit better off because even though the lcd looks okay now it could also be damaged and take very little more use and it could go out. Whatever broke the protective screen must have been one heck of a bump!
Had the same thing:
Step 1 - remove the battery for about 60 minutes. There seems to be a little energy store in the unit and just taking out the battery, counting to 10, and reinstalling it does not work.
Step 2- Do a software update upgrade from the Logitech site. The new firmware level seems to have fixed the base problem.
If you just take the battery out and put it in, it does not work.
If you take the battery out and just hook it up to do a software upgrade, it does not work becuase the remote gets power from the USB commenction so it remains "hung"
The most disturbing thing about the whole event for me was the number of people that had the problem occur about 12 months and 1 day after purchase....ie when it was out of warranty!!!
