Can't get to "Video 1" to play DVDs

I don't have the original remote to the TV. So, this makes it hard for me to work with this TV. When I received the TV from a friend it was on Video 1 permanently and would play DVDs but there were no channels programmed into the TV. Then, I bought a universal remote and I programmed the channels and now I have channels and no Video 1 anymore!!! I can't get the DVD player to play on any channel! Video 1 needs to be programmed into the channels and I don't know how. PLEASE HELP!!!

Apprenticetry turning your dvd player on and then doing a channel search if that does not work just buy a RF modulator and hook up your dvd player to it and it will run on channel 3 or 4 and will switch over by itself when you turn on your dvd player
