Try to scan the downloaded file to check if there's any possible virus on it. You have to make sure your computer is compatible with the game (the compatible system, memory, OS, graphics/video card etc).
Now,right-click the mouse on the game and press run and check if the game loads.
Do you have any anti-virus software on you computer?
If you have AVG Free (downloaded free from the internet), so when you right-click on the game file you have downloaded, you'll see Open, Explore, Run..go down until you see 'Scan with..' then click on it then it will scan. If there is any infection or no infection it will tell notify you.
Make sure you have check the game's recommended requirements and minimum requirement to play it on your PC. So, if you have the GeForce MX cards then you can't play the game because it is not supported.

I scanned it and it didn't work and as far as compatibility how do i check that? are you familiar with this problem? It was pretty common when the game came out and there were some forums on it. if you google the problem you can read some of the forums on it
I downloaded deus ex invisible war (2003) from direct2drive.com I scanned it and there are no viruses. when it gets to the loading screen right before the main menu it completely shuts down and it doesnt give an error code. This was a common problem with the game when it came out in 2003 and there was a patch made for it. I downloaded the patch and still nothing. Can you help?
