Question about Computers & Internet
I have a Proview 700P Silver LCD Monitor
Product no: PL716s
model No: 700P
Prower AC 10D-240V 50/60Hz 1:0A
The Green light flickers, but doesn't have a picture
The power cord is the original and everything is there. I was told I need drivers.
But am not sure. Can you tell me what I should do. Thank you
You do NOT need a driver. Your monitor is broken. The high voltage power supply that provides power to light the CCFL cold cathode fluorescent lights is broken. The most common problem is that the 470uF 25V capacitors on the power supply circuit board are bad. Bad Caps have a swollen and sometimes leaky top. There are 6 capacitors that cost about 50 cents apiece from www.partsexpress.com . Buy high temperature replacement capacitors rated at 105C. If you can't de-solder and resolder have some 14 year old kid do it for you.

Your ProView 700P Silver LCD Monitor does not need a driver. Windows see's it as a plug & play monitor. Suggest you have the monitor repaired or refurbished by a pro.

I just pulled the power supply out of my 500p monitor and cleaned where the monitor gets plugged into out with air and reconnected. It actually fixed it. Just something to try if you didn't before you spend extra money for a repair or replacement.

My Proview 700 had a similar problem, and I found an excellent repairman in Ebay who fixed it for $50, including the shipping.
His email address is email@example.com , his eBay ad is at
I was so happy with the result I sent him an additional $10 tip. If you have any questions email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
