Question about JVC Tk-C920u 1/3" CCD Super Lo-Lux Hi-Res 535tvl Color Security Camera

1 Answer

No video from new JVC TK-C1480U

I purchased a JVC 1480 new. I am powering it on 24VAC. When connected to the monitor I can pull up all of the menues, change settings etc. When I do the white balance I get an error: low light level. I am using it with a Navitar C mount 6-60135 manual zoom lens intended for close up PCB inspection. When the menu is not on the monitor the screen is black without a hint of video. I think the camera is bad.
Thanks
Jim

I bought the camera on E-bay and I would like too make sure I am not doing soething wrong before I ship it to Tim-Buck-Tu and start the battle with the vender.

I would like to find a JVC shop here in Dallas that for a reasonable fee would check the camera So far no luck.

If you think that the camera is bad, actually you just bought it so you can exchange it or return it.

Why does my Defender camera, model 26001, not function in color nor does the infra red work?

First check the power supply, make sure you are over 12vdc or 24vac depending on your source with all cameras connected. Try only one camera connected to the power supply. Make sure you have the positive and negative connected correctly. If the power is good the cameras may be bad.

Screen wont show cameras or record

Are you pressing menu button on the monitor or the DVR?
Your problem may not be the cameras, but between the DVR and the monitor. Found this on page Eng-19 of the user manual which I found on Samsung.com
This monitor was set to password lock when you purchase a new set. Therefore, you must first enter a 4 digit password to activate the On Screen Display... the default password is 4321. Not sure if that helps.

Our cameras were unplugged and then reinstalled (only partially uninstalled) and now we cannot get them to "reboot" We are getting an error of "video loss" I can not figure out how reboot the cameras so...

If your monitor is showing 'video loss' on each of the eight camera windows then the problem lies between the camera connections on the back of the Recorder and each camera. Without knowing what partially uninstalled means the troubleshoot process would be:
1. Use a voltmeter and check the camera power supply(s) line adapter where it splits to feed the cameras for full voltage- your unit should show 12Volts DC. Lack of voltage here and the cameras will not have power and cause 'no video' to the recorder.

2. Check the recorder menu to make sure that all camera inputs are turned on and are set to record. 'Covert' or hidden screens may not be viewed on a monitor but might show 'loss of video'.

3. It's highly unlikely that all cameras would fail at the same time so 1) if there is power and good video cable connections at the cameras, the next check would be to : 2) check each video connection into the back of the recorder and make sure that they are on camera "input", and not on a 'loop out' terminal by mistake.

If the above checks do not determine the fault, you would have to somehow feed a known good video signal into one of the camera inputs on the recorder and then troubleshoot the recorder.

If you repost what you have confirmed working we can re-assess.

My samsung sew-3030 won't keep the current date

To update firmware you will need a Microsoft Windows based PC and download the latest firmware on this website:

Once downloaded, unzip files to your desktop and do the following sequence:

1st -> RUN file Generic_V1.0.0.0.EXE (USB firmware update driver)

2nd -> connect your wireless video monitor to power adapter

3rd -> press and hold select (enter) button in the middle of the dial.

4th -> connect USB cable to your PC. (screen will blank white instead of black) this is firmware update mode

5th -> RUN firmware update utility mr8911isp.exe , wait to USB connection (status bar will turn green) and show message ASIC: 0301 Device Connected

6th -> Press Update button and wait...

7th -> Update done! disconnect your device and voila! no more date/time issues and another bonus bugs fixed noticed: lower alarm beep volume, menu text size increased for better reading, temperature sensor more reliable

I have two ir security cameras. When it gets dark enough to require the ir to kick in, it does and then tries to go back to "day" (color) mode. It then recognizes that there is not enough light and the...

You don't mention if both cameras are malfunctioning. If so, yes it is a power problem. Each camera needs additional amperage when it switches from day to night mode. The power source is probably fine during daytime hours but can't supply the demand when the ir's kick in at night. If your power is being supplied by plug in transformers then purchase a new one with the same voltage rating (most are 24VAC) but a higher Volt/Amp rating (amperage or current). If one transformer supplies both units then purchase another identical transformer and power each camera separately. If using a power supply (transformer and power supply board) you are most likely running your cameras at 24VDC. Again, purchase another power supply with the same volltage but a larger continuous amp output. Hope this helps. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

What power source do i use to hook up my samsung digital camera scc-131a

This camera can operate on two voltages, either 12VDC or 24VAC. If you are using 1 or 2 of these the most practical and economical approach is to use a power transformer that is rated at 24VAC40VA. Theses transformers can be purchased at most electrical supply stores for less than $15.00. If you are using multiple cameras it is normally best to purchase a single power supply. One manufacturer who makes a decent power supply is Altronics. You can get these in either 12VDC or 24VAC power configuration.

Bad Picture quality when AC powered

Hi,

Based on your post/description, your power supply is faulty.
1. It your 24VAC adapter/power supply is the original one that came with the camera, then most likely a component failure inside. More often it is the filter capacitor.
2. If it is a replacement, then possibly the ratings are not compatible with the camera, specifically the current or power (Amps or Watts).
3. In some instances the built-in regulator might be shot since your source is 24 but your load rewuires only 12.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
