No iPod models so far have the option of expandable memory. Even the batteries are not user-serviceable.

Your only option would be to get a new model with more memory.

The good news is that the new Nanos now support video!

Unlock ipod nano without loosing memory

IM SORRY 1st of all but...

you cannot unlock an iPod if you forget your combination. If you can't unlock your iPod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the iPod, which will erase all music and data."

Less Memory than my Ipod is Supposed to Have

Reformat your iPod (remember that you will lose everything on it) and recheck the memory. If it is still unusually low, this indicates a fault with it's flash memory.

You can reformat your iPod using iPod Updater. Once it's reformatted, open iTunes. Just name your iPod, and tell it to NOT register your iPod (if you did so previously).

Make sure you have you user's manual. If you don't have it, go to Apple website.

Make sure the songs you are trying to add are in the format suggested in the user's manual - warning: WMA files are trouble for reasons I don't feel like explaining anymore.

If they are, then make sure that you still have enough memory left in this player.

If you do have enough memory, follow Apple's 5 R's:
These are for Nano, but they apply to all iPods:
Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall, Restore
Remember these five basic suggestions if you have a problem with your iPod nano. If
one of the following doesn’t help, read on for solutions to specific problems.
â Reset your iPod nano. See “General Suggestions,” below.
â Retry with a different USB port if you cannot see iPod nano in iTunes.
â Restart your computer and make sure you have the latest software updates
installed.
â Reinstall iPod and iTunes software from the latest versions on the web.
â Restore your iPod nano. See “Updating and Restoring iPod Software” on page whatever.

Ipod nano memory

If you upgraded the firmware or something to that effect, then it will reduce the toal amount of available memory. Not reversible without risk of serious harm to player, reduced functionality.
