Question about Amana ACE208 Convection/Microwave Oven

1 Answer

Amana ACE208 doesn't work with a message 'door'

The convection oven doesn't work with a message of 'door'. I checked the door sensor works fine, and a relay works fine too. I doubt the main board.

Any opinion for this? Please help.

When using Radarange in the convection mode at over 350* the door will open enough that I have to shut and re start. So annoying!

The door latch receiver has a spring action lever (inside) that is made out of plastic and cracks or wears through. You need to remove the cover and remove the two screws holding the door latch receiver. Now you can switch the top and bottom piviot switchs, putting the top one lower and the lower one on top..make sense? you"ll understand when you see it.

Amana microwave

Remove the cover from the microwave. Where the door latches are you will find a couple small black switches. The buttons on the switches will be depressed when the door is closed. Check the switches to see if any are burned up or broken. They should have somewhat of a snap feeling when depressed with your fingers. If one is bad the machine will not heat. Replace the switch.

I have a amv6167bds and convection works but no micro

Check the door safety interlock switches ... tiny micro switches found near the latch mech inside the cabinet.

If they are faulty, the oven thinks the door is open and will not turn on the 'heat' in microwave mode.

Thank you for your question @

Ace 208 comes up with "hot" in display amana tech say not possible no code like this

Hello I´ve repaired a couple of ACE208 with hot message in the display. The problem is in the convection fan located on the back of the oven cavity, turn the oven on and quickly open the door and look inside to see if the fan is spinning (slowing down, the fan stopps when you open the door but you can see it slowing down) if it is not spinning the supporting screws of the fan sometimes loosen up causing the fan to hit the oven walls preventing the fan to spin freely -probably before the problem started to happen you could hear a loud noise- the fan can´t move the air throgh the warming elements causing them to overheat hence the hot message. The fan motor rarely fails so all you need to do is remove the stainless steel cover and the back black cover and tighten the mounting screws of the convection fan and clean it if it´s dirty. Hope this helps, both the ovens with hot message I have repaired get the green tag just by doing this or replacing the motor, I have no knowledge of other problems that may cause this.

C5 error on amana dq22hs

A CS error means oven senses to much current or not enough. The problem could be a burnt wire on the door switch, or mag themals. It could also be a ploblem with one of the HV compents. You should have a tech check it out due the the dangerous HV system.
