Question about Fantom Titanium Hard Drive

1 Answer

Is it broken?

My light comes on and shows blue, but my computer won't read the drive, it just doesn't show up. And isn't it supposed to start up like a fan when it is running?? It's not doing any of that.

Thanks, but I've looked all over for these drivers, that is the first thing that I thought of. I looked at the cables like you said and those are fine. The only drivers on Fantom Drivers' website even close to mine are
Fantom Drives Titanium II USB 2.0 Hard Drives. And they don't even provide drivers, just the manual. Any idea where I can get them?

Try opening the drive and check the cables inside, try removing the IDE or SATA cables and try reinserting it again. then test if it works, if not try it on another PC, if this doesn't work, try installing the drivers for your hard drive and retest

Have you tried the hard drive outside of the enclosure? Maybe it just isn't compatible with it. Else something with the connector could be broken

Acer Aspire 5732Z won't turn on - the light comes on for a few seconds and then turns off - whilst the light is on the disk drive will open - the screen doesn't show anything

Could be bad ram, hard drive or possibly a bad display panel or video card.Try using different ram and removing the hard drive then try it.Also, connect it to an external display and see if it shows video or not.If after trying these things it still isn't showing let me know and i'll try to help more.

I have a really old computer and I put my flash drive into the where it is supposed to go, but nothing came up. What am I supposed to do?

Some Flash Drives don't come with an "autorun" installed in it, if you have a Windows 7 Operative System, it might be installing the driver for it. If it's already installed, go to your computer menu and check if the drive shows up there (In the "removable drives/devices" area). If it doesn't show up, try plugin it in another USB port, your port might be the on not working.

I have a verbatim external hard drive, model usb500 and my computer does not recognize it. I have it plugged into a working usb port and the blue light on the drive is on, but my computer isn't...

You need to assign a drive letter for it to show up in Windows.
Right click on My Computer, click Properties. Then go to disc management, and right click on your external hard drive, and click Assign Drive Letter, and choose a letter and it will show up in My Computer.
Good luck!

Unable to read Lacie external drive

Hi!

Try right clicking Computer (in the start menu or shown on desktop as "My Computer") and clicking Manage. Then when that pops up, jump into Disk Management (left hand side). See if it shows up there. Often it can just be the fact that you need to right click the drive and click "Change drive letters". Post back if it doesn't show up there and we can try some other troubleshooting.

You could also try checking to see in Device Manager (also in that manage screen to the left bit) and then click Disk Drives and see if it shows up in there at all.

Red Light/Blue Light I/O Error

My nx2 is working again after having the "red light/blue light/I/O Error" problem. I just:

1. turned off my computer
2.unplugged the HD,
3. took out the HD from the enclosure and plugged it back into the enclosure,
4.started up my computer without the HD being plugged in
5. after my computer had been on for a minute, I plugged the HD in and my computer recognized it and had the proper mixture of red and blue light coming from the HD, indicating it's working properly.

Good luck!
