Stand that baby up!!! acess is from front, try removeig 2 screws from under lint filter and then pop top with screw driver lean top back.. youll see the tub and belt(if not broken right there),no belt??? order a 341241 whirlpool dryer belt. 2 5/16screws on either side of iside facade remoivefront caver, disconnect door switch and remove front panel. belt slips over drum , you need to reset tension pulley and wrap around motor shaft. .

Maytag dryer drum not rotating

Sounds like the belt that turns the drum has slipped off or broken. Not sure if I would consider this a DIY project, but if this is the problem, a professional fix should not cost much.

Element in the back seems to be heating but not spinning around. Cleaned filter.

the belt, motor, idler assemblage, drum glides and rollers are all parts the will effect the rotation of the drum. Here is a website that will help:

could be thermal limiter fuse in the back of the dryer. this can cause it to not heat but still the drum will turn

Whirlpool not blowing or tumbling

check to see if belt is still on drum. might have broke. thats the only thing that would cause the drum not to rotate but still should have air flow. the blower wheel is hooked up to the motor itself. your problem might be the motor itself has gone bad. if belt looks good then your motor is not turning.

Element heats, dryer tumbles, no heat in drum, never shuts off

Hi, If the dryer heats but will not advance in either time or auto cycles, you need to change the timer.
You can test to see if the timer is getting voltage. Remove the top rear panel and locate the two wires going to the timer motor. There should be 120V when the dryer is running in time dry.
Please let me know if this helps or if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic
