Also, the problem is intermittent that tells me that the ICs are totally bad? Sometimes the picture is perfect. May be the soldering went bad? thanks

I opened the front grill to locate these parts, I see 3 heatsinks right below the bulbs. So I presume I need 3 of these ICs? Please help to correctly locate these parts? Thanks

I have the same problem. I thought maybe the connections were bad so tried swapping different connectors but didn't help. Have had the problem for about a year. Initially, this blurry picture (double vision) appeared when I first turned on the TV and it would go away after about 15 minutes. Over time, it would take longer and longer to fix itself and now it's permanently bad. I'm thinking of replacing the TV with LCD but not if there's a way to fix this at reasonable cost.

Convergence ICs are bad need to be replaced. You will need to replace both of them also check the resistors right next to the IC often 1 or 2 of them burn out when the IC goes.

I have a Mitsubishi WS-55819 and the screen is curved and looks 3d. The colors are also blurry. When it warms up it looks better. Any suggestions?

It could just be the solder on the convergence ICs which needs to be reflowed. If that doesnt help then the ICs will need replacement. Your model uses 2 of the STK392-570 ICs. If you need further assistance please let me know.

No, that'll do it. Once you've changed em you'll know right away if somethin isn't right. But take faith and fire that puppy up. If the pix is good you did good. If something is amiss. I'd be happy to walk you through it. My money is on you though.

Distorted picture

On the middle circuit board towards rear is a metal wavy plate. On the back side(actually towards screen when looking from rear of unit),the middle screw has a ground wire(light brown) that is loose.
