My ds lite just switched off and it was charged

Hi, so if you try switching on the ds lite, nothing at all happens ??
Does the green light flash even if it is for like a split second. If it does then it is more likely top be a blown fuse. If 1 of your screens flicker also, this could be your problem as the ds will not start up with a broken screen. Please advise

When I turn on my DS lite, the green light and bottom screen flash briefly and it turns itself off. This is even with the charger plugged in (which indicates that it is charging).

Hi there, this is unfortunately because the top screen has become faulty. Whichever screen flashes it is the opposite screen that is faulty.

You can buy the screens quite cheaply from such places as amazon and ebay.

To replace the screen itself is a little tricky, especially as it is the top screen that is faulty.

If you do an internet search on how to replace the top screen of a ds lite you will find that there are plenty of guides out there but please read through them first to make sure that you are comfortable carrying out the repair.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

My ds lite wont turn on. When I switch it on, The screens flash and it turns off again! It still charges, What ddo I do. I dont want to buy a new one!

Try removing the battery and putting it back in. Let it charge fully until the charge indicator goes away and then try again. If you are still having issues, it sounds like the device has become corrupted.

Ds lite screen flash white tehm off

Hi,

The screen that does NOT flash will need replacing.

It may look fine and dandy but there is still an issue.

The reason for the flash is that when switched on the DS lite performs a qucik check of the screens, if there is an issue the unit will switch itself off again.

My answer is, judging that you have said you have taken it apart to have a look that you are willing to repair it yourself.
Have a look on ebay for the relevant screen (plenty of people on ebay stock them) and then replace the screen that does NOT flash.

This should solve your issue.

If you need a guide to replace the respective screen click on my name to access my profile and at the bottom of the page you will find my guides.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

My sond ds lite wont turn on and the charge light

Yes, this problem is normally caused by one or both of the fuses have blown on the logic board.

Dropped Nintendo DS Lite on wooden floor - NOW IT WON'T TURN ON

remove the battery for a few mins and put it back in and try again?
Its a long shot but theres very little you can do with this, the insides of the DS lite are REALLY small and the only replaceable parts are the screen, buttons, etc. and you cant really fix damage to the board or chips inside which presumably is whats happened here if you get zero response.
Sorry.. :(

Ndsl power problem

As Bob (HowlingMad) said, the Ds and Ds Lite will turn off immediately after being turned on if the connection to the top screen is broken.

Check the connections between the screen and Ds, if they look damaged then try replacing the ribbon cable for the top screen (or you may have to replace the whole screen - i'm not sure if it is built together on the Ds Lite). If the connections appear fine then it may be that due to the movement the connector has come out of it's socket/plug (also like Bob said), this is easily fixable if this is the case and would require you to take the casing off your Ds and plug it back in.

Hope this helps
