My camera is new and has never fully charged and will not hold charge. Can't get it to work at all.... Charge light doesn't stay on....and USB port charge doesn't work. No adapter will fit this.

This is the second unit that we have had and I have the same problem with the camera that it will not turn on or charge from the USB port. All other USB connections will work from this port.

My kodak easyshare has no power will not turn on. How do I fix it?

My camera, was working fine and now it is unresponsive. It is less than a year old. This stinks.

  • jacki_says_h Sep 15, 2008

That is the same thing that happened to me.

  • Anonymous Sep 22, 2008

We have the exact same problem with this camera. It won't charge and it won't turn on either. It's 7 months old and we used it probably 30 times! It has never been abused or mishandled either. Now I fear that we will have to pay to have it repaired! When it should be covered under warranty. I am very disappointed. I also own a Kodak Cameo camera that is 13 years old and I have never had a problem with it. So apparently, quality has changed a lot!

We have not found a solution. We tried charging it with an AC charger...no luck there either.

I have been having the same problem, but i got the 120 volt USB charger and the light is still not coming on. The camera will just not take a charge.

  • dedrakirby Jan 27, 2009

my easy share M836 does the same thing it is only 3! months old. It worked wonderfully before this. The last time we put it on the charger (the usb type wall charger that came with it and had always been using with it) the charging light did not come on and it never charged again. I tried it on my computer and also took it to Best Buy with no solution but to send it in to be checked.

I have exactly the same problem. It worked fine for about 6 months. Now, it will not take a charge, etc.....Very frustrating. I wish I had maintained the warranty! Poor product.

  • Anonymous Mar 01, 2009

Same! I got mine over Xmas, now it won't work! :(

  • missweebo7 Mar 24, 2009

At first my camera [Kodak M863] was working properly, but now it wont turn on and when I try to charge the camera it still wont cut on. The camera doesn't even charge anymore. I have no idea what is wrong with it. I can't seem to figure out what happened to make the camera stop working. Does it need a new battery, I doubt that the battery may be dead since I just got it this past Christmas of '08. The camera just now started to malfuntion this past weekend on 3/20/09 and I don't use the camera so much that the battery would die out so soon. I've never dropped the camera in water or anything, it has fell a couple of times before (at the most 3x /on carpet) but it worked just fine afterwards. Plus it has no visible dents or scratches or anything that could possibly keep the camera from working properly.

Or maybe its just the battery, have I charged it so much, that the battery has died out?

Can anyone please help me and tell me what could be the problem with my camera. Kodak M863

My father and I both bought this camera on sale about a year ago. This christmas my fathers camera stopped taking a charge. He tried his USB charger that came with the camera but it simply quit working, he then went and bought an ac adapter and that would not charge either, he then went an bought a new battery-no luck. Mine still was working wonderfully so we thought prehaps his camera was just a lemon. Then last month MINE did the same thing. In searching for a solution on line i came across this site and all the other people exact same problem. I guess I need to buy a new camera. This is just ridiculous.

My M853 died and will not even attempt to charge ( no light ).

I have the MD853. It has seen very little use and will not charge with either the USB or 120V wall charger. My next camera will NOT be a Kodak.

The only thing i have seen that works (both online and off) is if it has a telescoping lens, blow air into it (preferably with a computer duster or compressor). The lens will work again and the power issues will go away.

Same problem with my M853 EasyShare. It will not charge via USB at all. I attempted multiple computers, checked the USB ports supported at least 500 Ma and were not in a powersaving mode.

I have heard many complaints about this camera, some people suggest buying an AC charger...but I suggest selling any stock you have in Kodak.
