Unplug connector ZF behind the speaker grill if this restores normal operation than you have bad buttons on the front of the tv.

Help! My Toshiba 26avs02u TVs volume turns itself down to zero when i try to turn it up. How do i fix this problem?

If volume bar is presented continuously, the TV is in a continuous command volume down state. Could be volume down button down stuck on TV, or possibly remote, or some other device capable of emulating a remote is issuing command volume down. Or control logic in TV has failed with this unusual result.

Front panel buttons and remote have stopped working.

Is the favorite channel menu a function that is normally accessed by a button on the remote?

If so, that button on the remote might be stuck.
If this is the case, the menu may at times pop up all by itself and other buttons on the remote and on the TV's front panel may not respond at all (it had happened on my remotes more than once).

Try to clean the remote control (the housing, rubber pad with knobs, circuit board) with ethyl alcohol, when you clean the housing, you should also clean the holes through which the buttons protrude, there might be some dirt that keeps the button stuck.

It may also be a stuck button on the TV front panel, so check these too.

Also, it could be something else, i just wrote the description of a problem and the solution which to me seemed most likely.

Hope you get it fixed.

Panasonic remote and volume/channel buttons do not work

My son put a penny in the SD card slot of my Pansonic flat screen tv. I finally got the penny out but now the volume and tv controls do not work. I can change the channels through my cable box but that is it. The volume does not work on my cable remote or the flatscreen. What do you suggest I do to fix this problem?? Thanks, Josh

Mitsubishi WS65611 no remote function & panel buttons not working

This TV is known for the buttons going bad. You can remove the speaker grille to gain access to the wires for the panel. You may have to pull off the font access panel to get to the connector. There will be two of them, one for the input, other for the control panel buttons. If the buttons are bad, unhooking them will make the TV work fine with remote. I believe the connector is labeled ZR and is not the one with the thicker black wires (shieled video wires). Unhooking is my fix for this problem as replacing the buttons seems to be only a temporary fix.

Tv ws-65511 volume stuck

Did you ever get this problem fixed? Ours just started doing the same thing. It worked fine the night before, but today it's doing what yours is doing. The remote stopped working for the TV. The remote still works for the cable box, but volume and anything related to TV function not. The screen flashes when we try to adjust volume or anything else, but resets to previous volume. TV not responding to any commands either on the front panel or remote.
Any ideas? Thanks, Patti

Sony 27" wont turn off!!!!

It looks like one of the buttons on the front panel is stuck, base on the info you have provided; the volumen down button is stuck. The remote or any other buttons will not be operative until the fault has been remove.
I would suggest to try to press the Vol. down a few times just to see of it unlocks, if that does not work, the front panel assembly will have to be remove and try again if it works with the remote or manually.
The last thing to do if none of the above works, it will be to put a new switch.
Good Luck.
