Problem with import file

I new to using RoboHelp 5x. My problem is that import file is hanging up the application. The import file dialog does not open and RoboHelp hangs up when I try to import an HTML file.

I had this fault... i resolved it by fully uninstalling RoboHelp (deactivating in the process) and manually going through the registry, removing all references to robohelp.

a reinstall then worked fine, the import dialog box appeared first time

This article explains how to import a Microsoft Excel file into Microsoft Access version 2.0 or 7.0. Microsoft Access can import files from Microsoft Excel version 2.0 through version 7.0. However, Microsoft Access cannot import Microsoft Excel 4.0 workbooks (.xlw). This article assumes that the Microsoft Excel file is using standard database formatting. That is:

To import a Microsoft Excel file in Microsoft Access 2.0 loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation');
  1. Save the file in Microsoft Excel using standard database formatting listed above. Close the file.
  2. Start Microsoft Access 2.0 and open the database you want to import the Microsoft Excel information into.
  3. On the File menu, click Import. From the Import dialog box, choose the appropriate version of Microsoft Excel that you are importing and click the OK button. Microsoft Excel 7.0 files are not on this list. If you are importing a version 7.0 file, choose the Microsoft Excel 5.0 option.
At this point options such as whether to append to an existing table or create a new table may be selected.
To import a Microsoft Excel file in Microsoft Access 7.0 loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation');
  1. Save the file in Microsoft Excel using standard database formatting listed above. Close the file.
  2. Start Microsoft Access 7.0 and open the database you want to import the Microsoft Excel information into.
  3. On the File menu, click Get External Data and then click Import.
  4. From the import dialog box, choose Microsoft Excel (*.xls) for the Files Of Type option.

    This will display only the Microsoft Excel files.
  5. Find the desired file and click the Import button.
The Import Spreadsheet Wizard appears and allows you to choose options specific to the file.

Links dont open in my Outlook 2007, why?


  1. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
  3. In the Folder Options dialog box, click the File Types tab.
  4. In the Registered file types list, click (NONE) URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol, and then click Advanced.
  5. In the Edit File Type dialog box, click Edit.

    Important Make sure that you note the current values for the fields that are in this dialog box before you go to the next step. You may have to restore the values for the fields that you changed if this method does not resolve the issue.
  6. In the Action box, type open if it is not already there.
  7. In the Application used to perform action box, type "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome if it is not already there.
  8. Click to select the Use DDE check box if it is not already selected.
  9. In the DDE Message box, type "%1",,-1,0,,,, if it is not already there.
  10. In the Application box, type IExplore if it is not already there.
  11. Make sure that there is no value in the DDE Application Not Running box. If there is a value in this box, delete it.
  12. In the Topic box, type WWW_OpenURL if it is not already there.
  13. To close the Edit File Type dialog box, click OK two times.
  14. In the Registered file types list, locate and click (NONE) URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy, and then click Advanced.
  15. Repeat steps 5 through 14 by using the (NONE) URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy list item instead of the (NONE) URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol list item.
  16. To close the Folder Options dialog box, click OK.
  17. Test a hyperlink from Outlook Express.

Sorry my scaner not working but printer will be working please tell me whats wrong


  1. The firewall must allow the following traffic.
    • TCP on ports 9400 and 9401
    • UDP on port 6000
  2. Make sure Scan Manager is configured for the correct IP address of the printer. If Scan Manager will not launch from SmartPanel and it does not show up in Control Panel, check <WindowsDirectory>\twain_32\Samsung. Without Scan Manager installed the printer will not be able to scan to PC.

To use Scan Manager you will need to have installed and configured the following items:

  • Installed the Print Driver, including the Smart Panel application
  • Installed the Scan Driver, including the Scan Manager application
  • Have an active connection between the Printer and PC

Important: If you don't have these items in place, stop now and perform the installation.


To scan to the PC using Scan Manager, follow these steps:

  1. Right click Smart Panel in the task bar, and then select Scan Manager. (Scan Manager Admin dialog appears)

In trying to download video from our cam corder (Sony DCR-SR85) to our PC we get the following message 'Document management information can not be located" and we are unable to download the video files....


Different ways to transfer video:
Transfer the video to the computer using one of the following methods:

Use the Import pictures and videos option.
    1. In the AutoPlay window, click Import Pictures and videos using Windows .
    2. In the Import Pictures and Videos window that appears, click Import Settings .
    3. In the Import Settings window, assign the location on the computer where you want to copy the picture and movie files.
      • Next to Import images to click the Browse button and then select the desired folder (for example, My Pictures ).
      • Next to Import videos to click the Browse button and then select the desired folder (for example, My Videos ).
    4. Click the OK button.
    5. In the Import Pictures and Videos dialog box, click the OK button.
    6. Click the Import button.

  • Use the supplied Handycam® Utility application.
    1. Start the Handycam Utility application bundled with the Sony® Picture Utility software.
    2. In the Handycam Utility window, click to the select the type of files you want to transfer: HD movies , SD movies or Pictures .
    3. Click the Import button.

  • Copy and paste the video files from the Removable Disk window that represents the camcorder.
    1. On the computer desktop, create a new folder.
    2. If the Removable Disc window is not showing, open the My Computer window and then click to select the Removable Disk icon.
    3. In the Removable Disk window, click to select all the folders and files listed.
    4. On the keyboard, press the CTRL+C keys to copy the folders and files.
    5. Open the new folder that you created.
    6. In the new folder, press the CTRL+V keys on the keyboard to paste the folders and files into the new folder.
    7. Rename the new folder.

To import data from a FoxPro database, use the Microsoft Visual FoxPro ODBC driver. To do so, follow these steps:
1) Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2) In Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools.
3) In the Administrative Tools window, double-click Data Sources (ODBC), and then add a new ODBC data source for your FoxPro database or tables by selecting the appropriate Visual FoxPro driver.
4) Start Access, and then open your Access database. 5) On the File menu, point to Get External Data, and then click Import. 6) In the Import dialog box, click ODBC Databases in the Files of type list. 7) In the Select Data Source dialog box, click the Visual FoxPro data source that you created in step 3, and then click OK. 8) In the Import Objects dialog box, click the tables that you want to import, and then click OK.

You ought to copy the Ms Outlook Data file that is usually stored in your computer containing all your outlook data.

To locate it:
  • open my computer on the current computer that has the addresses and files.
NB: Make sure that you have enabled viewing of hidden files in your computer. Do this by going to the

  • Tools on the Menu bar --------- Folder Options----------Click on the View Tab ---------on the Advanced settings ------File and Folders -----Turn on Show Hidden files and Folder on the Hidden Files and Folders Menu.

Open Drive on Drive C:

  • On C: follow this sequence to open the file
  • C:/-----Documents and Settings--------Click on the User Account-----Local settings-------Application Data------Microsoft-----------Outlook.

When you are here you will see the Outlook Office Data File.

  • Copy this Outlook Office Data File in a removable media e.g Memory Stick.
Now you have copied the E-Mail and Addresses File.

  • Go to the computer you wish to copy the E-Mails, Settings and Addresses.
  • Open Microsoft Outlook Program
  • Under the File Menu Click on the Import and Export submenu.
An Import and Export Wizard dailog box opens up.

  • From the Action to perform choose
  • Import Internet Mails and Addresses and click next.
  • The Outlook Import tool dialog opens.
  • Select the Internet Mail Application to Import from: Choose on Outlook Express 4.X, 5.X, 6.X making sure that the Import Mail, Import Address Book , Import rules Options are turned on.
  • Click next
  • Address Dialog Box Opens up
  • choose on the option accordingly and click finish
  • Browse for Folder dialog box opens up.
  • Select the location of your saved Ms Outlook Data file
  • Click OK
  • Starts to import all your E-mail files and Addresses to the new computer.
Thats it. I guess you have your mails and Addresses.

Activation problem


From Macromedia / Adobe.

Due to activation issues with Adobe RoboHelp X5, the following may be completed to turn off activation with RoboHelp X5.
  1. Install RoboHelp X5.
  2. Install Patch X501 and X502 from the following link: http://www.adobe.com/support/robohelp/downloads.html
  3. Download RoboHelp.exe and RoboHTML.exe and replace the installed versions with the downloaded versions. The installed versions are in <Install Directory of X5>/RoboHELP/RoboHelp.exe and <Install Directory of X5>/RoboHTML/RoboHTML.exe respectively.
  4. You now will be able to run Adobe RoboHelp X5 without any activation.

actually i think u dont have any software for opening the html file download the mozilla or opera and go to icon and right click then open it in opera it will work
