DS Lite: Green light, touch screen flashes white and turns off problem.

Replaced the top lcd screen of a friend's NDSL and got the green light, touch screen flashes white and turns off problem. I think it is a ribbon cable problem, but I've checked them 10 times now , even that pesky little one. I don't want to fiddle with the little one anymore, so need to narrow down which cable it is most likely to be.... I'm thinking the top screen one that you roll up and push through the crack...just wondered what you guys think. Or else do you think I've blown a fuse?

I have the EXACT same problem, the funny thing is, if I push the upper
lid back REALLY hard, I can get it to turn on, but after a while of
doing that, I can't get it to turn on at all, now I see that you said
it wasn't pushed in as far as it should, but I can't see any possible
"pushing in" of the cable, perhaps you could help? I have opened the entire system and I see no visible errors, and am afraid to mess around with the cables, they are small, and I do not want to break them.

    My email is oblicorp@gmail.com

    Thanks.

I had the exact same problem, i just fixed it a minute ago by pushing the ribbon cable in farther. make sure you push on both sides of it with your fingernails until it goes all the way in then latch it down.

Wow, had same problem, though "oh my ***" Ive broke my boys DS completely 9well he did destroy the top screen with teeth...

Its the ribbon, it has to be firmly put in place with a set of small pliers!

then it powers up lovely...

Hello there! First of all let me tell you that your nintendo ds can be repaired and it is not trash... what you need is to get the bottom screen to be repaired ....you can do it sending it to the nintendo repair shop or by doing it yourself by following this youtube guide http://www.youtube.com/user/nintendorepair.

When I turn on my NDSL the touch screen is white

The bottom screen is made up of 2 parts the screen itself and the touch screen mambrane which sits on top of the screen, if the touch part is still woking then the screen is faulty and will need to be replaced.
There are some good videos on youtube that will run you through the process of changing just the screen.

Ds lite flashes on but fuses are ok

One or both your screens have blown.

Try removing the motherboard from the screens and attach the battery the green light should turn on and stay on.

Now attach the lower screen and turn on. If the screen is ok the screen and green light will flash and then turn off. (if the screen doesn't flash the bottom screen is you're problem and will have to be replaced)

If this happens the problem is then you're top screen which you will have to replace.

DS lite green light comes on, top screen flash, then switches off

Check L2 near the power switch on your DS mobo. That part usually get loosen or taken out when you drop your DS. And usually you can recover it when dismantling your DS.

Writing is green not black on top lcd

If the light on the lcd on the top is green and your text on the bottom is faded, get to the main ds menu (where the pictochat,ds download play, and the game.) and look on the bottom left, There you bwill find a sun shaped icon, touch this icon and it should contrast the light. (or the f4 fuse busted).
