GE Profile Spectra XL44 oven- Makes a popping noise while heating up

We have a GE Profile Oven (Spectra XL44) and really like the oven. Recently however it started to make a popping (or puffing) noise and a deep growling or humming sound while it is heating up to the set temperature. It also seems to take a little bit longer to heat up than it did before (15-20 minutes to heat upto 425 degrees).

Is this something we should be concerned about? Can anyone suggest something I can check or should I just call a service technician?

Yes, your right I have a gas range. If it is a bad ignitor, would it continue to make a popping sound all the way up to the set temperature, every 30 seconds or so. Like its trying to restart the burner, then restart the burner, then restart the burner, etc.... or is there another sensor that reads the temperature that could be bad?

Assuming you have a gas rang here sounds like a bad ignitor, too long to light causes a "popping "noise when it finally does, as well as extending cooking time and perhaps slight smell of gas while cooking, all signs of bad ignitor.when you start the oven should light bake bar in 40-60 secs. any longer, bad ignitor
easy part to replace yourself part num wb2x9154, remove bottom of oven cavity, 2 screws mount ignitor to burner and 2 wires lead from ignitor( use wire nuts provided if needed . and makes no difference which wire goes where theres no polarity.

popping entire way up to temp??? almost like bake bar is fluttering for lack of gas??? ignitor def releases gas from valve, and if not strong enough that would be a possiblity, no others sensors would be involved anly a pressure regulator, but then you would be experiencing issues broiling and cookin on surface burners as well
