Verbatim 1gb flash drive privacy zone lost space

I forgot the password to my privacy zone so I deleted the login icon and now my flash drive says that (I put 961mb of 964mb total in privaccy zone) The space I have to store is only 3mb which is what I did not put in privacy zone.

In order to delete your privacy zone, you have to get the application once more. To get the software click here http://verbatim.com/support/support.cfm?open=Downloads ...ok so you will have to format your flash drive with the application, removing the privacy zone if you want, this will obiously DELETE ALL DATA ON THE DRIVE after the format has completed, you can then remove the application from you flash drive, if you still remember the privacy zone password, then all you have to do is just type it and you have acess to the privacy zone... anyone who needs assistance can contact me to semirandomjr@yahoo.com if you are confused, email me and i can also try to clear it up for you. MAKE SURE THAT YOU CHOOSE THE CORRECT PRIVACY ZONE APPLICATION FOR YOUR FLASHDRIVE

Solution #2 works providing you use the correct identifying picture for the USB you have. Quite a few USBs don't have serial numbers, but after a few minutes and copying down the software to my USB, everything went back to normal. SAVED me 1 years emergency back-up data :) Thanks #2

Formatting just deletes all information that is on a disk, so if you format a drive with two partitions on it, you're only formatting the partitions, not deleting the partition

so what you want to do is delete the partition between the two drives.. or at least make one of the partitions bigger.

in Windows 7
if you go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management > right click the partition you want to make SMALLER and click Shrink Volume, then right click the partition you want to make BIGGER and then click extend volume

you have now created a smaller partition and a larger partition

in Windows XP you're gonna need a program to do this.. if you google partitioning programs you'll find heaps, a good one that was very common was called "Partition Magic"

hope this helps

I have a 1 GB Verbatim and deleted password login

Hi unfortunaltey there isnt much you can do

There are some free data recovery software out there which you could try

the only way around this is to format the drive, do this by clicking on my computer, then right clicking on the USB flash drive and clicking format

Please can i ask that you leave feedback and vote if this has been useful

You should be offered the log in box if you set the privacy options. It would also have asked you for a hint in case you forgot if you cannot remember what the hint was.

Then you have one option but that option wipes out any information on the drive.

Also if you are using it under VISTA then you need to be logged in as administrator.

To wipe the drive use the built in flash drive format option.

You may have to move the slider to allow as much space as possible. That would over write the password section but also you data

Privacy zone lost

You will have to download the v-safe software again for your flashdrive from manufacturer website. Then you can change the size of the secure area or remove it completely. http://www.verbatim.com/support/support.cfm?open=Manuals
You should be able to find the software here in the downloads section.

Newly bought 2GB DataTraveler only show 1GB capacity

Did you read the emanual that is on the Kindston's website for the DataTraveller? When you use the password protection program, it logs you IN to another partition you created when you started it the first time. It logs you off of the  normal drive partition and in to the password protected partition.

Both exist on the same pen drive but can not be accessed at the same time. Try logging off using the same program or if there's such a logoff shortcut anywhere on the pendrive, yo should be back to the normal 2GB partition.
