I have a subsidy code but for some reason the key pad will not allow me to enter a # or *. The * key does a backspace and the # absolutely nothing. I have checked the phone using a sim of the original service provider 3 and the key pad works fine including * and #. Any help would be appreciated.

If the phone does not ask for the code then try the following:
Insert the new SIM card.
Turn on your handset.
Press and hold the * key until a box appears.
Enter the unlock code
The handset is then successfully unlocked.
