Hi, if you have the Medion Applicatons and Support Disc for the MIM 2080 just look for Drivers (MIM2080) and open the file. Double click the Install icon, load the sound driver, and you will be prompted to restart your lappy - all will be well again. Same applies to the Unichrome graphics driver, Agere modem - they are all there. If you dont have the disc, Medion have a good download site - if all else fails - get in touch with me!

Open Device Manager.
Expand Sound, Video and Game Controllers.
Double click on your Sound device to open its properties.
Click the Driver tab > Update Driver button.
Select "No, not this time" and click Next.
Select "Install from a list or specific location" and click Next.
Select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install" and click Next.
Put a check in "Show compatible hardware" above the Model selection windows.
Select your device if it's listed and click Next.
If your device isn't listed, click "Have disk".
Click the Browse button to navigate to where the files for your device are located,
select the .inf file to install the driver and click Ok.
Follow the prompts to finish installing the driver and reboot if required when
finished.

Medion mim2080

Usually this is caused by the Compact Fluorescent Tubes that run down the back of the screen, or the inverter that powers them.

If you are really confident, you might be able to but replacement CCFL's and inverters on ebay and install them or you could take the machine to a professional and them do it.

Alternatively if you use your laptop at a desk, you could simply plug it in to a monitor and use it like that.

I hope that helps, if you have any further problems, please add them ass comments to this question. If I have been able to answer your question (or not) please click on one of the ratings buttons to let everyone know how I did.
Thanks for your feedback, and good luck.
