Hi, if you have the Medion Applicatons and Support Disc for the MIM 2080 just look for Drivers (MIM2080) and open the file. Double click the Install icon, load the sound driver, and you will be prompted to restart your lappy - all will be well again. Same applies to the Unichrome graphics driver, Agere modem - they are all there. If you dont have the disc, Medion have a good download site - if all else fails - get in touch with me!

Computer says no audio device found...speakers had been working for many not have software disc to reload

This sounds like it could be a case of corrupted drivers getting loaded. Without knowing what operating system you're running, I can only offer a general solution for Windows.

Often, if something was working just fine (ie. speakers, mice, etc.) and suddenly stop working for no apparent reason (ie. no new software, updates to existing software, etc.), a reload of the drivers will solve the problem.

Locate the Device Manager. Typically this can be found by Clicking Start --> Control Panel --> Performance and Maintenance --> System. Select the Hardware tab, then Device Manager. Look for the Sound, video, etc. listing. Expand the list by clicking the "+" sign. Check the listing for a yellow question mark. If one is found, right click on that item and select Properties. Click on the Driver tab. Click the "uninstall" button. This may seem a bit scary, but the affected device will come back in the next step! Go back to the Device Manager listing and right-click on another device. Select "Scan for hardware changes". This will find device you just "uninstalled", reload and reconfigure the drivers.

If you still have the problem, provide some additional details.

Need drivers

It is not the speakers you need drivers for but the computer sound chip. Check out the motherboard makers website and download the driver for your particular motherboard. reboot and they should work OK. If not they are probably faulty

Mim2080 hard drive upgrade

Yes. You can get a bigger hard drive for it, no prob, 60, 80, 100, 120 is the biggest for these I believe, but I could be wrong. I've found that has the best prices on hard drives.
