Question about Brother MFC 420CN All-In-One InkJet Printer

Error message cannot clean

The message on the screen says printer not ready cannot clean. This happened all of a sudden one day after powering up. I called Brother and they put me through a bunch of "press this and do this" things.. Suggestions??

    The printer keep giving me the unable to clean message right after I changed the black ink cartridge. I even replaced the cartridge again and I keep getting the same error message.

The printhead has been cleaned and recleaned and we still get the error message code 3806. What else should we do?


To resolve this error:
  1. Disconnect the power adapter from the printer.
  2. Wait 30 seconds to allow the printer to reset.
  3. Connect the power adapter to the printer. Turn on the printer, if necessary.
If the error continues:
  1. Open the printer access door.
  2. Remove andinstall the printheadtwo times.
  3. Close the printer access door.
  4. Wait until the printer is ready to use.
  5. If the error is displayed, Support .

Printer shows error code 3802 printer will not print


To resolve this error:
  1. Open the printer access door.
  2. Disconnect the power adapter from the printer.
  3. Wait 30 seconds to allow the printer to reset.
  4. Connect the power adapter to the printer. Turn the printer on if necessary.
    • After the printer completes powering up, the message "Printer access door open" will appear.
  5. Close the printer access door.
If the error continues:
  1. Open the printer access door.
  2. Remove and install the printhead two times.
  3. Close the printer access door.
  4. Wait until the printer is ready to use.
If the error continues, contact Kodak.

The power comes on (I can hear the fan); the LCD flashes on briefly (about 2 seconds) then nothing happens. No READY message on the LCD, no error messages... I can power the printer off with the power...


Most likely power supply. These Samsung 2000 series laser printers are notorious for bad capacitors in the power supplies. Pretty simple repair IF you can get a good tech who can pull out the power supply (not hard) and replace 5 capacitors on the power supply board. A good price to pay would be in the $100 range for parts and labor.

The printer is ready to print. No action is necessary. Processing

The printer is receiving or processing data. Wait for the job to print. Processing...(job name) Ready LED is blinking.

This message is displayed while the printer is processing a current job, but has not begun to pick pages. Processing...(job name) From Tray XX Ready LED is blinking.

This message comes up for any job, once the printer starts to pick paper. Manual Feed or Continuable Error

The printer is attempting to Manual feed, media is not loaded in the paper tray, media loaded is the wrong size or type. Verify that the correct media is loaded.

Press and release the GO button to continue printing. Out of memory

The printer is out of memory. The page you are printing might be too complex for the printers memory capacity. Try lowering the resolution. See Understanding print quality settings for more information. Door open, media out, no print cartridge, or media jam

The printer is in an error state that requires operator intervention or help. Check the following:
  • The print cartridge door is completely closed.
  • Media is loaded.
  • The print cartridge is correctly installed in the printer.
  • There is no media jam.
Printer initialization

A printer initialization is taking place. No action is necessary. Fatal error

All lights are on.
  • Unplug the printer for 30 minutes, and then plug it back in.
  • If the printer still has an error, contact HP Support.
All lights are off.
  • Verify that the printer is turned on.
  • Make sure that there is power.
  • Unplug both ends of the power cord, and plug them back in.
Job Cancel

All the LEDs cycle. Canceling...(job name)

The Job Cancel button was pressed and the job is aborted. Power ON

All the LEDs cycle. Checking Paper Path and Checking Printer

This only occurs at power up. Cleaning mode/Engine test

A cleaning page or engine test page is printing.

All the LEDs cycle. Cleaning Page prints

Wait until the cleaning page is finished printing and the printer is in Ready mode. This could take up to two minutes.

Printer won't print error message corona wire needs cleaning


When you experience a persistent problem like this right at the beginning - listen to your own good advice. Take it back to the store and exchange it for a new one.

Issue related stuck due to objects such as paper or plastic. make sure its clean and gears are moving.

6210 Does not print


If it won't copy as well as print, (re)loading the drivers won't help since they are not involved in the copy process. Is there any error message on the screen on the printer. Have you tried power-cycling (unplug then replug in to the wall outlet)?

And of course, the obvious: is it turned on, does it have paper loaded, are cartridges that are not empty installed?

Error Message 016-370 restart computer


turn off the printer

1. Connect the printer through USB.
2. hold the enter button (the one in the middle of the circle) with the cancel button simultaneously
3. turn on the printer you will see the following message on the LCD screen
4. " download mode… ready"
5. Start the firmware update from the computer.
6. The LCD will change to "writing…"
7. After about 10 minutes it will prompt you to restart the printer.
