We were watching our 42LG50 the other day and it shut off and now wont turn back on I called an lg tech but they werent interested in helping since it is 4 month out of warranty. Do you have any reset suggestions

Not going to be an reset but you can try ... the reset on LG is unplug the tv power hold down the power button for 30sec's while still holding the power plug in the TV and hold for another 20 to 30 sec's then try and turn it on.

if i remeber right the LG50 is an LCD you will more then likely need eather the power board or the main board ...no way to know with out opening it and testing afew things (helps to be LG trained also :)

It shuts off 2 seconds after i power on.

Several possibilities but most common seems to be power supply defect or poor connection. Check these resources. Note that other Youtubes that may address the problem are also accessible from the youtube link.

My LG 42LG50 only has sound but no picture, the picture went down yesterday after i turn the TV on for like 5 seconds :( then only sound nothing else...its close to 3 years old now :( help

on some channels of my LG tv there is no sound only picture please help

Have 42lg5010 when turn on left side darker for 5to20 mins then ok

I have had the same problem for a couple of Months . Bought my lg in March 2009, just had it diagnosed as the Screen . Apparently they are not Lg screens but a version called AUO optrix . my tv is a non economical repair and i am waiting for Currys to get back to me . let me know if i can be of any help. Mike
