Question about Belkin (F5D7230-4) Router (587009)
I have been working on this problem for about 2 weeks now. I have a Dell Inspirion 1501, with a Belkin/G router. I have installed WoW, and I have tried forwarding the ports on the desktop that is connected to the router within the router configuration. I have been to WoW's support page over and over again to make sure that I am forwarding the right ports TCP and UDP. Still, I have no luck my laptop will not connect to the server. I get the message "unable to connect to socket." I have even went as far as opening the same ports on my laptop, no luck. I have a suspicion that Windows Vista my be part of problem. I hope you can give me some help here, I have gotten to the point were I might just go buy a new desktop and an linksys router.
You need to disable UAC in Vista. User Account Control
This is the bit of Vista that gives you all the annoying pop ups asking if you want to do this etc.
