-   I am having a similar problem but it's occurring on my desktop at work. I Have been trying to open MS word files from the shared drive in my office and they won't open properly. Word files saved to my own computer won't open properly either. Basically all the happens is word opens but the document doesn't show up. I then close word to try again and it gives me the following error message:

Every once in a while I have keys that don't type in what they should. ex. instead of @ I will get ", or instead of + I will get / , never a letter or number but one of the blue function keys or regular function keys ex ( )":?>. Always happens in Explorer and email. If I shut down it seems to fix it for a bit,

First shut down Word and any other Office programs (such as Outlook).

On the Start menu, select Run, type regedit in the box and click OK.

In the Regedit program, the parts of the registry appear on the left in a tree
diagram like the one in the file manager. Expand the icons in this order:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Office
12.0
Word
Data

Click on the Data icon and press the Delete key. You'll be asked to confirm that
you want to delete the key; say yes. You can now close the Regedit program.

Then restart Word and test it.
