Question about Toshiba Satellite A45-S250 Notebook

LCD segment fades

Hi Boss,
Have this great Toshiba A45-S250. Works fine except for after it was shipped last I had to re-seat the optical drive card to get it to power on. Well now I have 1/3 of the lower display that is fine for the first few minutes then gradually fades to a white. Rebooting repeats this. Any chance that something could have loosened up to cause this.?

Sorry it took so long to try your solution.. Managed to unplug and re-seat the LCD connector on the motherboard. One of the attempts gave me a stable unfading screen. Looked good, so re-assembled the beast and got the same 1/3 bottom portion of the screen fading again. Tried many times to reproduce this , but no luck. So it looks like I have to go for the LCD connections. Can you walk me through opening the LCD to locate the connections?
    Thanks

Yeppers..inside under the keyboard, is a connector that's on the main motherboard..try to inspect this, by removing the keyboard(don't lose the screws)..and re seat that)..

the other options involve disassembling the lcd entirely, so try this one first..

HOWEVER, it requires the Atheros Client Utility v2.4.2.18, to be installed. If it isn't installed on the laptop, this utility needs to be installed first. Then the Driver above.

My toshiba satelite A45-S250 doesnt start the windows, it keeps rebooting and I am not being able to install it again, my dvd drive isnt working

Unplug the power cord, take out the battery and hold the power button down for 10-15 seconds. This should take your computer out of the reboot loop that it is stuck in. If it doesn't, try using an external CD drive from Wal-Mart or Radio Shack, your computer should register it and you can load the windows CD from there.

What hard drive do i buy to replace one in my toshiba a45-s250...how big can i go and how fast? thank you, mike

Hi, You can get any capacity or speed you want, The only thing you need to make sure of is that it is an EIDE drive for laptops and that you have all the drivers and software you will need to reinstall everything back onto your laptop after you install the new drive.

Power Button Isn't Working Properly

There might be possibility that the cable connected from the front board on/off socket which connects to the motherboard is not connected properly , so for this either you will have to open up the chassis of the laptop and then check that whether it is fine or not.
Other wise
Take a magnet and move it along the power on /off button for 1 minute ( on the laptop ) , this will remove any static charge effecting the laptop ( very rare scenario ).

Or take it to a technician.
Also check the battery.
