45" mitsubishi TV with gray/black "water stains" on screen

I have a 45" mitsubishi rear projection TV and my 2 year old sprayed it down with febreze the first time which caused a grayish black half circle marking at the very bottom of the screen. The second time she dumped a mountain dew on it and it caused more grayish black markings. Is there any way to remove these markings? I'm guessing that the first layer of the screen needs to be lifted to clean under there because when I lightly push on the grayish black areas it seems a though there is a thin film over the actual screen. My guess is that the liquids got trapped between layer 1 and layer 2. Am I on the right path here? Can this be fixed? PLEASE tell me YES!

If the plastic screen has not been damaged by chemical properties in the liquids, the screen does not separate. Time will tell.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi TV Screen Water Stain Problem

You can use warm water and a soft cloth to try and clean it, but it will probably leave some evidence that liquid existed between the two layers at some point. Mitsubishi will deal screens directly to their customers if you ask nice enough and are willing to install yourself.

Only if it is the protective front screen that the issue is with. the only way to take the protective screen out is to open the tv. A service tech can do this for you however it will not be a cheap fix.

Cleaning black front panel

Depending on what type of screen you TV has, many have plastic frenel screens that react to certain cleaners such as ammonia and alchohol based. These compounds can permanently damage the screen causing a cloudy area where it was sprayed. Unfortunately nothing can be done except to replace the screen.
