Power Up the unit with NO Disc in the tray. Open the tray Press the SETUP Button on the remote control Navigate to the PREFERENCES page using the Right Arrow Key Press the DOWN ARROW one time to select Press the 1 button on your remote control Press the 3 button on your remote control Press the 8 button on your remote control Press the 9 button on your remote control Press the 3 button on your remote control Press the 1 button on your remote control The current Region Code Setting will display Use the UP/DOWN Arrow Keys to select the region required or '0' for All Regions Press the PLAY Button on the remote control I bought mine tonight. The above procedure works perfectly. It is now set to 0, and I confirmed via firmware version page. Cheers!
Page 55 of the user manual shows a way you may be able to 'reset' the player back to factory defaults and/or if a parental lock has been set and the password is unknown/forgotten:
* Press the STOP button on the front of the unit while you press the STOP button on the remote control-keep pressing both buttons for approximately 3 seconds (until the 'padlock' icon disappears from the front panel display). Release both buttons (the player should be unlocked). If that doesn't work, try resetting the DVD/VCR (instructions are listed below).
* Reset the DVD/VCR: on the front of the unit, press and hold the STANDBY/ON button while you press and hold the STOP button-wait at least 3 seconds before you release both of the buttons.
You'll need to set up your menu preferences because this Reset Procedure returns the DVD/VCR's menus to the factory default settings and also erases the disc library.
Try taking any dvd or tape out of the unit, then using the remote, hit the menu button on the remote. From there, go to the set up or preferences menu. (If you havent set a parental lock code, you may need to do that first.) You can set your preference for what rating and how often the parental lock is in effect.
Hi, This sounds like a parental lock issue. Try going into the set up menu and press the down key choosing custom by pressing enter (this is in the user manual page 20 - 22) then go down and select parental. If you know your parental control password code then enter it, if not the reset code is 4737 you will then need to create a new 4 digit code,There are 9 levels to choose from 1 - 8 and all, all being the selection that removes the parental lock. Hope this helps. James
According to the manual, "If you forget the password, you can erase your current password by pressing the number 8 button on the remote four times, thn press the enter button to confirm the setting. PASSWORD: 8888"
A picture of an unlocked lock indicates that Parent Lock is NOT active.
In the back side of your equipment mentioned that the regeion code.please check read the region code and try to play the same region dvd cd's.other cd's not possible to play with out chaging region code.you can contact the nearest service provider to chage the region.
