If the water overfills only when the ice maker cycles you probably have a bad ice maker.

If the water comes in when you turn on the line to the unit from the house line you have a bad water valve assembly in the back(dual valve) The only thing you can do is leave the water off until you replace the dual water valve.

Water valves work on a hydraulic principle, the water pressure acting on the inlet surface area closes the valve. It takes the electric solenoid to overcome this. You can also unplug fridge and see if water is still coming in to ice maker, then you are sure it is a bad valve.

Ice maker leaks water and freezes up then stops working

Sounds like Ice Maker is overfilling. Could be water valve not shutting completely off after filling. Or could be problem with Ice Maker itself.

Ice maker not working.

If your water tray was empty check the water supply to the fridge .
you shouldn't fill it manually.
\if the water supply is turned on, then the operating solenoid that allows water into the tray is faulty.
Whoever repaired your fridge should be called back immediately.

GE Profile Model PSS26LGSC Ice maker not working

Did the ice buildup appear to resemble the water overfilling the top of the ice maker? The only thing that I believe that may work is removing the ice maker, clean the excess ice buildup.dry and reinstall the ice maker and see it works. If the ice is above the normal level the ice can cause the motor that pushes the ice out of its slots to strain more than the gears or motor can handle stripping the gear or damaging the motor beyond repair, When harvest takes place the first thing that happens is a heater below the ice maker warms the cubes a little just enough to allow them to slide out of their slots and fall into the ice bin. The ice make for your model does not have replaceable parts and if bad or damaged it is less expensive and time consuming to by a new ice maker. If the water fills above the top of the ice maker it is usually the fault of the water control valve not closing all the way once it fills the ice maker after each harvest. Did water refill the ice maker when you cleaned it? Did the water overfill after you cleaned out the ice maker? What I am asking is water over filling ice maker again after you cleaned out the excess ice? If the water continues to flow from the WR57X10032 Water Inlet Valve

Water overfilling the freeze tray on Whirlpool conquest ice maker

The overfilling is most likely caused by defective water control valve on the ice maker side. The replacement for your model is a=> W10408179 Water Inlet Valve

The water fill adjustment can be found in the Ice Maker Troubleshooting Service Manual These settings can cause too little or too much by turning the set screw so use caution. I will be here should you have questions or comments, Thanks Sea Breeze

Water overfills icemaker. Won't shut off properly

Good day,
There is a micro switch in the ice maker that turns on the water valve for approx. 7 seconds, and then closes it.
If the valve is hanging open, even though receiving no input from the ice maker then the water valve needs replaced.

Overfilling ice tray with water

Does the water eventually stop flowing? If not, your solenoid valve is sticking open and defective. If you also have ice and water through the door, this is a dual solenoid valve. If it does eventually stop, your ice maker could be sticking in fill mode. Either way this could be a potential for a flood. I would recommend replacing both.
