In XP:

If " = @ or viceversa - Goto control panel, regional settings and change keyboard layout to where ever you live (UK or US).

Vista or Windows 7:

Press F1 for the help section, type in regional settings and it will tell you how to change this :-)

Is there an auto correction feature

The key to the right of the spacebar with the "X" printed on it is the correction button. You just place the carrier on the character to the right of the wrong one and hit the corr. button. The carrier should automatically back up and and remove the incorrect character and if you hold the key down it will continue to back up and remove characters. then you just type in the right one(s). Of course you have to have good "correctable" ribbon and correction tape cartridges installed. If the tapes are old you may have to advance them by typing and correcting or by manually advancing them before they will work. If the correction doesn't remove all the ink from the paper you may have a bad ribbon and/or correction tape.

My password not accepted by computer

To start with, try typing your password slowly by hitting keys gently (if you have not done this already) and, at the same time, see if all the characters that you type are reflected (usually as dots or asterisks) in the password box on your screen. If all your key-strokes get reflected in the box but still your password is not recognized, make sure that the functional keys like Num-Lock and Caps-Lock are On or Off only when necessary. Also, make sure that no keys on your keyboard have got stuck up or jammed accidentally. If everthing is fine but your password is still not recognized, you may need to try out password recovery/ reset options. To guide you on the same, we request you to share with us some more information on which account are you trying to log into.

If one or more of your key-strokes are not getting reflected correctly in the password box, one or more keys on your keyboard may be malfunctioning. To cross-check if this is the case, you can try typing your password in Notepad or Word document on your system and confirm if all the characters that you type are coming up on your screen correctly. If the password you are referring to is your Windows password, you may not be able to login to your system and thus, may not be able to access Notepad or Word document. In such case, you can make the user ID box of the Windows login screen blank and type your password there (make sure that you remember your user ID the next time you need it). But do not hit Enter button or Login tab.

If you are sure that your keyboard keys are not functioning correctly, you may consider connecting a properly-functioning external keyboard (if possible) to your laptop and then see if the password gets entered correctly.

Hope this will resolve your issue.

I have my wep key, 11 characters, and internet at my own house. problem is: my psp says its invalid and it wont go in. im really lost and not sure what to do. hexadecimal what?

Hi, the WEP key you have should be incorrect, WEP keys have to be 10 characters, 26 characters or 58 characters.
Also, make sure you have entered your key correctly, when hexadecimal warning comes up it usually means that you have entered a character that is not A,B,C,D,E,F or 0-9.

My toshiba laptop is typing wrong characters but my wireless tevion keyboard is o k. Is there a solution to this ?

Sounds like the laptop keyboard went bad and thats why its typing wrong characters. Best way to verify this is to use a USB keyboard on the laptop, if the USB keyboard is typing the correct keys then you know the laptop keyboard is bad. If the USB keyboard is typing the wrong keys as well then you know its a setting in windows that is causing the keys to type wrong characters.

IBM Wheelwriter 3 typing incorrect characters

If you have another printwheel try that, if you still have the trouble try blowing out the area where it is in stalled. If that fails turn the machine off then back on, after it completes the POR mark the printwheel with some white out, repeat the POR see if the mark is in the same place, if it isin't you probably have a selection plate problem.

CHR SIZE AUTO?

Press the Return button and the machine will automatically print the size the tape will allow! :) Title:
What does the error message "CHR SIZE AUTO?" mean? Description:This message appears when the selected character size is too large for the width of the tape cassette installed.

You have the following options:

  • Press the "Print" or "Return" key to allow the P-touch machine to automatically select the maximum character size that fits the tape width.

  • Press the "BS" key to clear the message, and then install a wider tape cassette.

  • Press the "BS" key to clear the message, and then select a smaller character size by following these steps:

    1. While holding the "Code" key, press the "Size" key. The display will show the current character size.

    2. Keep the "Code" key held, and press the "Size" key until the desired size is displayed.
If you select "AUTO", the P-touch machine will automatically adjust the character size to the largest possible size.

    3. Release the "Code" to apply the setting.

If you have the correct size tape installed and still get the error message, please try removing the cassette from the machine and reinstalling it. Also, check that the tape cassette is seated firmly in the compartment.

Note
The following table shows the maximum character size that can be used with each tape width.

    Tape Width Maximum Character Size 1/4" (6 mm) 12 points 3/8" (9 mm) 18 points 1/2" (12 mm) 24 points 3/4" (18 mm) 42 points
