Yes if you can solder. New switches are about £1. Make sure the new switch doesn't overhang the motherboard or you may break it again.
Check you tube for instruction videos
If you can't fix it youself then you may consider removing the back of the DS, removing the on button and putting it back together so you can operate the switch with a toothpick.

My PRNDL don't work, loose shift indicator won't go into gear. Plenty of transmission fluid, no obvious wear or breakage, what do I do now?

When you turn the key to the ON position are there any instrument lights on the dash? Does the radio work? If not, dead battery.

I have an hp mini and the power switch on the side is broken. Normally if you slide, it will snap back and the laptop will turn on but now it just slides back and forth and the laptop won't turn on?...

Hi There,
It sounds like you've broken the post that acts as a snap action switch to turn on your laptop. With that post broken, you will still physically be able to move the switch back and forth, however the snap action will not work and your laptop will remain off.
You can fix it yourself, it's not terribly ******* a netbook but for someone without experience it can be confusing, here is a link to a disassembly video: http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=hp%20mini%20disassembly&source=web&cd=2&sqi=2&ved=0CFsQtwIwAQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dq2xQUT9NbIg&ei=B6XPT47GG7Ky0QH0pumkCA&usg=AFQjCNFdTsIR3hOFdu_OfA_b3sAHpYbXxQ

A repair shop should be able to fix this issue for you in under ten minutes and under $40.

Message on screen says card locked. how can I fix this?

Remove the memory card from the camera (after the power is turned off). On the memory card itself you will, if you look closely, see a tiny plastic piece which slides back and forth. Slide this switch to the opposite side it is on now and this will unlock the memory card. Once this is done return the card to the camera and it should work fine. You can use the switch to ensure images aren't inadvertently erased.

Speed switch stuck on 2

Suggest you open the drill, and see if the plastic slide for the dual speed switch, is stuck in the body of the drill.
From this, you will know if it's a simple fix of correcting the slide action of that plastic selector slide, or if it is going to require replacement of the switch itself.

The plastic selector slide, slides back and forth in a groove, on either side of the drill body. Could be something simple. Perhaps some dirt, or metal shavings, that can be removed.
Maybe there is a burr on that plastic selector slide. Perhaps a little lubrication will help also.

If it's the switch itself, parts have come loose inside due to breakage. Replacement would be necessary in this case, unless you are really prolific at fixing broken switches.
