Most people decided on that question by how much they liked the sound and the device itself, then comparing it with how much it will cost to repair it.
I would say that if it hasn't any sentimental value or you are not troubled by the sound quality of it when it was working you can safely buy a new one. If you have the cash to spare that is.
If you are fond of it then submit it for repair and ask for an estimate of the cost. You can then decide what to do next.
If you know anyone who is good with electronics then let them check to see if the internal fuse has gone first. That would cost about 20p to fix! If it has and it restores it to life then you might be lucky. If the new one blows again, then that's more serious.
Post the make and model number on here and say "blows fuse". I or other members of Fixya will then help you further.
value is only what someone would want to pay for it at that moment. Sentimental has no market value...
nothing available in a brief internet search. I would take it to a watch/jewelry shop for inspection/insurance evaluation. Understand insurance/replacement value is always more than actual street value
mcdevito75 here, Hello Dave, My advise is to take your lighter to a jewelery shop, you can try a small place, they may have the info or even repair your lighter. Also try Colibri watches.com try and see.
There could a number of reasons why it has stopped working and depending on the problem it could be a simple fix but generally not. It is after all an old toaster as you realise. On the bottom is a model number AT-35 AT-40 or TA-J. It depends on what part is sentimental as the outside and ends and base can be transferred over to a working mechanism. I have a few of these toasters and think they are just great.
NO. this camera has been out of production for over 20 years. Minolta quit the camera business 2 years ago. Best bet: search Ebay and get another that needs repair. Grab the batt holder from it and keep the rest of it fer parts!!!
I have my fathers old Sears sander and tools. Rubber has gone past shelf life as you stated, tried rubber rejuvenator, did not work. Value is that they were my fathers and would love for them to work, but decided to keep them on the shelf and keep the memmory, thanks for the
sentimental memmory part, wish I could have helped more, yea for you!!
