Question about Stanton C.304

3 Answers

Stanton 304 After approx 2-6 mins of playback, the cd deck lcd display goes blank (but remains blue, i.e. doesn't lose power) and then READ flashes as if the player can no longer read the cd and the player locks up until i turn it on and off. I have checked all the power cables by changing with my other identical deck and the same thing happens. I suspect that because of the time period before it stops working it could be a fan problem and maybe tripping out overheating but I need help as it is no longer under warranty. Is this something that sounds familiar?

The problem happens during playback. After a period of playback time the deck will rapidly reset its self, any settings I had adjusted like removing the pitch lock and setting pitch to 8 will go back to the settings they were on when I first turned the unit on.
Playback stops and the decks are useless. At first all was fine but after a while one started to go wrong then the other one did the same.

a Stanton C 304 has nothing to do with DVD's. It is a CD deck used for DJ'ing.

It may also require a firmware update..

if firmware is not helping then please go for new one.

old ones are not advisable in these products always

thank you

good luck

Some DVD players simply don’t support these types of discs. Others may play VCDs or SVCDs only if the discs were authored with certain settings, which the VCD/SVCD/DVD creation software may point out. The same goes for DVD playback software, although the developer may provide a patch or plug-in to enable this functionality.

First, consult the DVD player’s documentation for VCD/SVCD support. If your DVD player allows firmware updates, as some DVD recorders do, try updating it. Update your DVD playback software if applicable.

Also, you may find that different burning software, even from the same developer, may make discs compatible with your player. For an Apex DVD player, as an example, we were able to create working SVCDs with NeroVision Express, but not with Nero Express. Both titles come in the Nero 6 and 7 Ultra Edition suites.

Try burning the disc at a slower speed. Also, certain brands of CD-R may work better than others for this application. Roxio says that some players cannot read recordable media at all. Other sources say that CD-RWs might work better in some players.

Read up on your disc authoring software’s settings for VCDs and SVCDs in its help file, settings menus, or support section of the developer’s Web site. Try different settings related to compatibility. If all else fails, try the ones that will make “non-standard” discs

There's a certain problem of some parts into the SCS.1d Deck features. Can may maybe upto the LCD “scribble strip” to let you know what parameter you’re tweaking without looking up from the deck.

SCS 1d is like having many “virtual turntables” at your disposal; a single button press is all it takes to switch from one deck to the “next.”

If this defective it will cause the system into malfunctioning state.

    thanks

I have a stanton-vestax cd-11 dual cd player, and was wondering how to get a cd to play on it. I put one in, turned the player on, pushed all the buttons and nothing happened. how does it work?

I have had one of these for many years: Switch it on, you must make sure the two transit screws at the back of each deck are fully unscrewed and loose, let the machine displays settle down, then insert a CD, then press the 'reset' button. There is a built-in delay of about 11 seconds before the deck begins to read. After this the machine should then display the first track number, and pressing the big red button will start play.

Pressing the 'reset' button again stops playback and the CD spins down, but if you leave the CD in there it will eventually re-index and cue up again. This feature is to enable fast, one-button CD changing and it works very well in practice, as the 11 second delay is enough time to take one CD out and get another in there before it tries to read it again.

To stop playback just press the 'reset' button (this is the most used button!) and take out the CD. After the delay, the machine will try to read a CD as normal, but display 'no CD' on the display. There is no stop button, as this unit was designed for continuous use in a club or disco.

Hope this helps. :)

Stanton c303 cd turntables

the c303 has the same screen and inturnal curcit board as the 304 ans 314. the other two items you are seeing are for the other units. it was a way for stanton to save money by useing the same parts in other table top cd models.
