Question about Targus AMW15US

Targus Wireless Laser Rechargeable Notebook Mouse problem

On January 6, 2008 I purchased a new Laptop and Targus AMW15US mouse. It worked fine for about 5 weeks.Then it quit working and the laptop noted that the item (receiver for mouse) plugged into the USB port was no longer recognized by the Vista software.. I attempted to get it working to no avail.

Please advise. Thank-you in advance.

    Thank-you for your assistance Jastababe. I believe you are probably correct in your assessment. However, I now have a new mouse that works very well and I have decided to stay with it. I'll chalk up my poor choice of an Argus to experience.

    I have the exsact same problem. but the website doesn't have the software for download.

    When I tried a message said that the product was moved to a different site..... What?! Isn't Targus Product Support supposed to be on the Targus website?...

    Exactly the same issue. I was using mouse yesterday, no problem, then this a.m., not working/not recognized. No chanegs to system to my knowledge (unless an MS update "fixed" something) Am running XP on a Tablet PC.

    I was also using my Targus AMW15US laser mouse for about 6 months then suddenly Windows doesn't recognize the USB receiver device (Unknown Device) when I plugged it in one day. Device Manager is saying the driver for the device is not found. I'm using Windows XP. Do I need to upgrade or reinstall any Windows USB or mouse driver?

The mouse worked initially....have you tried doing a system restore back to a few weeks ago to see if that solves the problem..
With Vista and so many of it's incompatibility issue's...you maybe have downloaded something and it corrupted your software for that mouse...

Here is the url with vista drivers. Redownload the drivers and install...see if this helps

Mouse works fine when cord is in it but when it comes to wireless the mouse does not last long. How long should I charge the mouse with the batteries in it plugged to the computer?


Rechargeable batteries do expire after a while either get new ones or get a battery tester to see how much life they have left. under normal circumstances a new set of batteries last me about two weeks before i have to recharge them and my computer stays on 24/7 including the mouse with at least 5 or more hours of use per day.

have you tried to change batteries? low battery will cause your mouse not to connect to the receiver.

I have a targus laser mouse mod. amw15us it will only right click will not left click am i missing or needing a driver to solve this have 2 of them they use to work fine


Try this: on the base of the mouse, there's a red syncing button. Press both that and the black reset button on the base of the USB-connected charger. The laser light should become steady after a moment, indicating that the mouse is in sync with the laptop. (during this period the light should be blinking until it is synced) You may have to press the reset button multiple times. Hope this helps.

I purchased the AMW15US and am using it on my laptop with Vista


Go to control Panel and click on the Mouse icon. Then it it should show weather you can change the buttons and settings. Most do. Hope this helps. Bud

Facebook has turned our account off this morning even though we have complied with every request. Here is a text conversation between my Mother and myself as i asked her to contact Facebook for us: Mom: FB has removed any and all things under your old listing, searched for HHH and lots of names came up using name (first) JJJ but none of them you. They even removed you and Beth's name from my friend list and any thing posted from there. That is going above and beyond rules, that is just plain dictatorship. I will post something on my site and see if they let it run ME: contact them please first and ask whats what? Mom: Okay I only get that "you need to re-apply" answer Me: my screen says "Thanks for your help we'll look at the documents you provided and get back to you if we have questions" Me: • this after corresponding with them (guy named 'Jesse') everyday for past week • I uploaded our drivers licenses • told them why we wanted joint account (my Parkinsons) • they said we had to split it up so Beth said she'd start new • I put in my name BUT would not allow "J" • or • J • so I ended up having to spell it Jjj • and it worked ... for a day • so this morning it asked me to load more IDs (which I did) • and I explained to them I have long name that NO ONE uses • and that "J" is what I have been called since wee'un I have done all they asked Mom: Put in your full name Me: • too late to try • I already out that in and gave them IDs (MY parkinson's medical alert, my USAA Insurance card and homeschool ID) • just in case - here are copies of what I sent
