Question about OKI C5100n Laser Printer

Replace Belt Can I bypass the replace belt error or am I requires to replace it. My printer prints great and I would rather not replace. Is there a master reset. Thanks

The service manual says that when you get that message if you open and close the cover it will temporarily reset the message for 500 pages.

the transfer belt has a cleaning system as part of the belt there is a motor in the machine that when the belt is installed runs the cleaning system which is to remove the old toner off the belt ready for the next print well the motor is burned out or the transfer belt cleaning system is messed up . Frayed & Broken belt found after printing stopped


You should be able to replace the belt yourself by takeing the printer apart, if your not feeling confident about it then you should take it to a pro. a service manual may be availabe.

Am getting error 356: Belt Life - Is there a way to replace that yourself?


I suspect this is the transfer belt that needs to be replaced. I've seen the error as 355 not 356 but that could be depend on when in the life-cycle of the belt you see the error. The transfer belt, part 42158711, costs ~$210 from this vendor: http://www.fastprinters.com/ProductDetails.asp?product_id=OKI-42158711 . It's probably close to $250 from OKI. Staples has it for $270; Amazon.com lists one for $166.

To replace the transfer belt, you have to take out the image drums and put them in black plastic bags (if you take more than 5 minutes to replace the belt). Remember their order. Then locate the blue locks on each side of the belt unit and rotate them about 45 degrees to unlock them. Lift out the belt unit using the handle at the front. Unpack the new belt and hold it with the handle to the front of the printer. Catch the gear at the back with the drive gear on the belt unit. Lock the blue locks and then reinstall the image drums.

Toshiba 3511 color print problems


Hi,

Hope it's not the calibration. This could happen due to transfer belt timing problem. There are sensors and reflectors inside the transfer belt assembly. They may be dirty. Clean them or replace the transfer belt if required.

Error code SC471


SC471 is a Transfer Belt HP error. The transfer belt does not lift in the rear. The rear cam (G060 3894) slips past its locking tab on the square stepped shaft and slips off the side.
The fix: reposition the rear transfer belt lift cam to lock the tab into the square shaft. Secure the locking tab with a tie wrap.
Now this is the solution if you know what you are doing on this printer. I can not even begin to tell you in this forum how to dis-assemble the printer to get the transfer belt unit out and effect this repair. IKON is pretty pricy on labor. I would see if there is an independant guy locally that can do it. Inexpensive repair that I would charge $90 or less for. If you HAVE to call IKON then just make sure they do not try to tell you that you have to replace the transfer belt unit. This repair is all that is needed 90% of the time.

Menu screen comes up with (Replace Belt CG)


The 'Replace Belt CG' message on the 8008 indicates the OPC Belt (Green Reflective Belt which is located in the top of the printer) has reached the end of its life and needs to be replaced to ensure the print quality is maintained.
If you are happy with the print quality you can clear the message via the control pannel on the printer, you will however need to remember you have cleared the error in the future when print quality is reduced you will then need to replace the OPC Belt.

The ‘Replace Belt CG’ message can be cleared in the following way;


With the printer OFFLINE hold down the MENU button for 2-3 seconds until the display changes UTILITY MENU and then release the MENU button
Press the MENU button once more
The display will read "Utility Menu Clear Belt CG", press the MENU button once more
The display will change to "Clear Belt CG Not Execute" by pressing MEDIA/> key again the display will change to "Execute"
Press the MENU/ENTER key again after 10 seconds the display will change to "Completed Clear belt CG"
Press the UP ARROW button twice to exit the Utility Menu
Press the ONLINE button to return the printer to the ONLINE state

The ‘Replace Belt CG’ message will now be cleared.

I have a HP Laser 2600 color printer and when I print reports it looks like the letters are not line up


replace print carts. belt might be sliping replace belt, teeth may be worn that belt rides on, replace printer.

Ricoh Aficio cl2000


Most of the time when I find this happening on a printer, not just Ricoh's it turns out to be the PCU (photo conductor unit). The color PCU is one unit and the black is a seperate unit. Hope this helps.
