I tried that, And I put the latest update on it as well from the garmin site. Still no luck. Did that help you when you had the problem?

    Thanks,

Garmin Nuvi 265 wt...how to get voice command to work?

Hi,
this may require two sessions but - here goes:
1- turn the unit on - select the VOICE icon on the opening screen - triple check it isn't muted and change it to 90% voice volume.
If this doesn't give you sound WHILE DRIVING - it won't give you voice unless you're moving or driving.

Then - turn the unit off - Turn it back on- - as it is starting up - and blank- place your thumb in the LOWER RIGHT CORNER of the blank Screen.

this will open this window:
SELECT - YES - it will reboot and your minor settings will be lost - like saved address and favorites - not your updated maps.

This will reset you to default NEW -
When done - sound will be as it was when new if no sound - return for repair.

I no longer have a voice telling me where to turn. I do not have it on mute.

first check the language settings and see if it is showing the language you wont. some times it shows no voice is loaded. If the voice is there then do a reset by holding the on off button over to left for 10 seconds. If that does not cure it then do a full rest. Be careful because this will delete any information you have stored on your GPS. Best of luck

Lost our manual and can not find out how to get the tomtom to

To get your TomTom to speak street names, you will need to change the voice from a recorded voice to a computer voice. This can be done by:
  • Connect your TomTom to your computer
  • When the TomTom asks do you want to connect to the computer, choose Yes
  • Open the TomTom Home application
  • Click on the 'Add Traffic, Voices, Safety Cameras, etc.' button
  • Click on the 'Voices' button
  • Click on the 'Computer Voices' button
You can now select a voice to install on the device.
Once you have installed a voice, change it by
  • Disconnect the TomTom from your computer
  • Turn on the TomTom
  • Touch the screen to bring up the menu
  • Touch 'Change Preferences'
  • Touch 'Voice Preferences'
  • Touch 'Change Voice'
  • Use the Left / Right arrows to navigate to the voice you just installed (Look for the word 'computer' in the upper right corner by the male/female option)
  • Touch the 'Select' button

Voice is dropping last word

Have you tried a hardware RESET? The button is hidden behind the front panel, which snaps off by a fingernail slot located directly under the GARMIN logo on the front panel. * Use caution removing and reinstalling the front panel... it's somewhat fragile.

If this does not help, you need to try to run all updates (there may be several!) using Garmin's Webupdater. (Connect to computer with USB cable first.)

Hope this helps!!

New route

From Delphi tech support:

NAV200 SD Card Reformat

Problem:

Customer reports that the NAV200 has lost its voice prompts and/or constantly reads NEW ROUTE.

Solution:

Reformat SD card from FAT-32 to FAT. And replace files on SD card with back up files from DVD-ROM.

Reason for Problem:

The navlib.ini file located in the navigation files (in mnav) is missing from the SD card. It is located in mnav in the back up files found on the DVD-ROM
