When I put a dvd in the D drive and try to play it/copy it I get the following message. Disc with unsupported format in drive D. I have never had this message before and I cant seem to play or copy anything, can anyone help me resolve this problem? MadM
Have you been able to run DVDs from that drive before? - If not, then you probably have a standard CD-ROM or CD-RW drive, which is not capable of reading from a DVD. You would have to purchase a DVD-ROM drive in order to play or copy anything from a DVD. - If you have, let me know so I can help you further.

Go to "My computer" on desktop dubleclick or open " Disk Drive"(DVD or CD). window will open " Right click on that File or Folder, That you want to Download to your Computer. and in right click menu, select "Copy". and again Go to My Computer, dubleclick on any HDD drive like c:\ or d:\ and then right click on that Window and from menu select "Paste".
This is due to lack of codec to play the video. In computer there are almost all video codec so it will play the video easily. But in Dvd deck there is not so many codec present . So try to put the video in popular file format like mpeg , dat ,vob etc.
First, stick with DVD's that have worked in the past; Verbatim is the best.
Perhaps the laser needs cleaning. If you have a can of compressed air, open the DVD tray and shoot a few seconds of air in the DVD drive, being careful not to tilt the can. Do not shake the canned air bedore using.
If there is still a problem, use a laser lens cleaner ($13 Radio Shack). It is an audio CD with a row of brushes on it. Turn on your speakers / headphones and follow the instructions. No chemicals involved.
your audio is in the wrong format when youve import ed the finished copy your software is trying to play your audio back with the original software but in the copy process another software prog has taken over and copied it in another format you will need to find out what format it was in originaly and what format its playing back in.you can probably solve this by dowloading a prog to match the format it is now trying to play back in. Understanding the problem is only half of it. now you have to find a solution.
it normally means that whatever format your dvd was burned with probably had an error when you were burning did you try to work it your computer , it could mean there is a problem with a disk, or that the laser lens needs to be cleaned
