Problem with out of memory box when editing video with Ulead 11 plus

I Trouble with out of memory code when using Ulead. I have a Dell Dimension Dim 3000 Intell (R) with a Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.80 GHz. 2.79 GHz, 1.25 GB of Ram. I have service pack 2. PC graphics upgrade VisionTec X1550 256 MA video card. I have Ulead 11 plus and other video programs and they all have a out of memory warning when I try to insert more than 5 or 10 pictures into the main video. Also when I burn the video, from 30 to 50 minutes long, the DVD will have skips in the finished product. I have tried the same thing on my Dell Laptop and it works fine. I purchased this tower to do videos and as of yet I can' use it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dave

Hi Dave,

A couple of suggestions:
1. increase your swap file/virtual memory to roughly double your physical memory;
2. defrag your main hard drive;
3. while running Ulead, disable temporarily your anti-virus (and your net connection);
4. Trim/slim down your startup files (msconfig);
5. select "Adjust for best performance" in your Performance Options (System properties);
6. Verify that you do not have any virus or malwares lurking somewhere.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Dell dimension beeps when you power up and does not come on. ab light are amber, cd light are green. reset memory but didnt help

The beep sequence is diagnostic. It can tell you what the problem is. For example two short beeps tells you that there is no RAM installed. For the full set of beep codes see http://support.dell.com/support/systemsinfo/document.aspx?~file=/systems/inspd530/en/om/html/trouble.htm#wp1085300

FLASHING LIGHT ON THE PC AT THE POWER ON BUTTON---SYSTEM WILL NOT POWER UP

Sounds like Faulty RAM modules, Open the box, and Try removing the Memory and re-inserting it, if that does not work, try one at a time and start the machine..**Make sure u close the Box before powering on. It could be bad Memory (RAM) module.

see link to see how to open and check the memory modules:

Open case on dim.3000 cleaned out dust. Unit has

Try unplugging your video card and re-seating it. Sometimes, when they are cleaned, the card gets bumped and isn't quite seated right. If that doesn't work, try doing the same thing with your memory sticks.

How do I check a dell dim 2400 pwr supply w/o using a mohterboard?

Sorry you are having trouble.

The easy way to take it to Fry's or Best Buy and let them check it.
The other way is to jumper the proper pins on the connector together and use a volt meter to verify that the voltages are within an acceptable range.

Move HD from Dimension 4300 into Dimension 4700 / XP HomeED both.

You can change the hard drive, but it will create major driver issues.
You will have to let the computer tell you which drivers are missing and go back and download them from the manufacturers website or use the software that you have.
You cannot damage the hdd doing this.

The easy way to do this would be to install this as a secondary hdd, this would allow for more storage and less problems.

Insufficient Memory

Dear Sir

Insufficient Memory means the RAM . Please let me know How Much ram you have. By clicking task manager within that performance tab, you can view how much being utilised etc.
for better performance you should have minimum of 256 MB.
