The compressor is a mechanical pump that will be loud...plus the fan has to move air to make it work correctly...not much you can do about it...

Water does not fill in the Aprilaire humidifier on my furnance

It sounds like the feed has been shut off or pluged. Be sure the feed is off, remove the feed from the humidifier. open the fill valve slowly and run water into a bucket or whatever. If it does not run you found the problem, if it does then it is probably the fill solenoid valve on the humidifier.

A water softener unit was needed for the water to pass inspection in my daughter's doublewide. The only place it would fit was in a closet. Now the closet is always very damp and my grandson's...

If it is humid from condensation on the wall of the tank and the piping, a humidifier would help, but I would try to insulate any piping or tank that condenses/drips. Go right to the floor and do the piping carefully going to where it enters the room.

I just purchased this humidifier. I set the humidity temperature to 40 and the fan is constantly running but there is no water filling into the bucket. Although the humidity temperature is set to 40 the...

Nicole, some of the packing material may have gotten into the drain tubing or hole and clogged it. Remove the water reservoir and look for a vinyl tube or drain hole in the cavity that the "bucket" came out of. If you can see anything blocking it, carefully remove it. I don't think at this point anything would have gotten any further down the drain tubing. Since this a brand new unit, consult your Owners Manual for directions on how to Troubleshoot this problem. If that fails, it's under warranty. Contact the manufacturer as directed in the Owners Manual.

Hope this helps to get your problem solved.

I have a dehumidifier (Emerson I believe - sorry don't have the model # right now) in a very cool basement (55-60 degeres). When I turn it on the coil quickly frosts up as expected and a while later the...

Dehumdifiers work by cooling a coil below the dew point temperature of the ambient air. When this happens frost or water will form on the coil. Most room dehumidifiers work with the room temperature above 65 deg F. It works well when the temperature of the room is 65 deg F or higher. But when the temp is below 65, it won't work because the coil does not reach the dew point.

There are cold temperature dehumidifiers that are designed to work in colder environments such as basements. They can work in a environment as cold as 40 deg F. Check your owners manual to see what type of humidifier you have to see what is the minimum operating temperature for you unit. Hope this helps you.

When my dehumidifier is on, it says there is 90 humidity. I come back an hour later, it is still running and no water in the bucket.

Hello,

If there's no water in the reservoir, first make sure that water is getting to the humidifier. The humidifier must have a good stream of water available to it. If there's water in the water line but the reservoir doesn't fill, replace the float mechanism inside the humidifier.

Take care.

Water is no longer collecting in bucket, but appears to leak out of humidifier. Humidifier also ices up.

Basically there is a drainage blockage from the humidifier to the bucket. Take one for the boys and **** hard on the pipe which very possibly will release the blockage.

The humidifier does not collect water at all

sounds like you may have a rusted evaporator coil and that has caused a freon leak.
it is very common on newer units as they are not made as well as they used to be.
when the coil rusts, it will cause the freon copper lines to leak the freon out and then without enough freon it will usually freeze over a few coils and eventually not take any water out of the air.
i would check to see if yours has an extended warranty and then contact the manufacturer to see if they can fix or replace the unit.

Adjusting dehumidifier on furnace

This model furnace does not come with a built in humidifier. Humidifiers are normally an optional add on. If you have a by-pass type humidifier it is none adjustable. Water level is normally float controlled and operation is control by blower circuit. When ever the blower runs the humidifier operates when in the heating mode.
