GE 25922 5.8 GHz Cordless:New Voice Mail & Ringtones
Just Bought two GE 25922FE1-A. It indicates a new voice mail but the instructions do not mention how to access the voice mail. Where is it? How do I get to it? Also, The user guide indicates that there is a choice of 10 ringtones, however my phone only offers me a choice of three. I have followed the instructions in the guide and tried several times to access other ringtones but have been unsuccessful. What is/are the requirement(s) for accessing 10 ringtones.
I've already asked the question "how do I access my voicemail" and I don't know where to find the solution.

I resolved the problem but I'm not 100% sure of how I did it. If it happens again I'll try it again. I left the answering machine OFF so the Voice Mail would take any messages. A friend phoned and left a message in the VOICE MAIL, I knew this because of the broken dial tone when I went to make a call. When I erased his message the 'New Voice Message' displayed on the handset disappeared. I figure a previous caller hung up just after the voice mail picked up. It was not long enough so it did not register in the voice mail but somehow registered on the GE phone. Since there wasn't anything registered in the VOICE MAIL to erase the message was 'stuck' on the handset display. As soon as there was a message registered in the VOICE MAIL that could be erased it also cleared the message on the handset.
As i mentioned, if it happens again I'll try it to see if it works, until then I am not going to tempt fate.
press "mute" key to access menu, press the up or down arrow key labeled "caller ID- volume" until you get to "handset setup", press the "mute" key again, press the down or up arrow until you have "defaultsetting" selected, press "mute" key, press "1", then press "mute" once more. At this point your handset will reset clearing the indicator for all the handsets. I've had to do this twice on my phones and it worked every time.
What worked for me was to call my phone from another phone and leave myself a voicemail. I then went in and retrieved and deleted that voicemail. Once I hung up from my voicemail service my handsets reset about 10 seconds later.
That blinking indicates a message in a third party voicemail (voicemail provided to you from your phone company), contact them as they may be charging you for a service you do not use.
Charge/in use indicator on the base flashes
• Provided your phone company offers voice messaging service and you subscribe
to it, the charge/in use indicator on the base flashes when the phone is not in use
to indicate there is a message waiting. It stops flashing after the message has
been reviewed.
Subscriber is T-Mobile@Home. First, cleared all messages from T-Mobile voicemail.
Now to fix your GE phone:
Push the program key.
Select Handset Setup
Push the program key
Select Default Settings
Push the program key
Select 1 Yes.
Push the program key
Hope this helps.
An alternative to this problem, i've got ...possibly its a COMCAST feature..
Call your own number which will activate the ansering option for COMCAST and then u can read ur messages. This will ge the NEW VOICE MAIL message off ur handset.
In that case i find the answering machine of the phone useless and shouldnt have put money for the same.
call your phone service and have them disconnect the voice mail and if they cant just remove that have them set there rings at like 9 since most phones only have up to 5 rings for the machine to answer.you will have to use there voice mail service to hear your message and then delete it but should be good after that. i have comcast and they said it would take 3 days to deactivate voice mail but told me how to get there so i can get rid of that flashing light, hope this helps you
I have the exact same problem... help?
