If you see a no signal message, then it means that the signal output format of the PS3 does not match . It happens if you have previous used it on another tv and now connected it to a different tv. To resolve this, turn off the PS3 . Press and hold the power button on the PS3 till you hear three BEEPS. The PS3 should automatically detect the tv's resolution and the initial setup screen should appear. After that you should just follow on-screen instructions to set it up.
Yes, you can! But not straight out of the box. You need to purchase a DVI to HDMI cable adapter. It will convert it so your tv can use it. Here is a link to some:
Just a note, I am getting ready to buy the same TV. The person I am buying the TV from says the same thing. Not sure of the answer, but If you have the answer now I would like to know. As far as the sound goes, you will have to hook it up separately, the HDMI-DVI (Digital Video input) Video being the key word, it doesnt carry the audio signal. I hope to figure the problem out this weekend when I actually get te TV and try a few things.
Here's one solution, if you have an audio output from your tv, you can go from the audio output on your tv to the audio input on your receiver that way anything that is playing on your tv for example, playstation 3, dvd player etc. Anything playing on your tv will have audio on your onkyo home theater system. The other thing I would try if you want to hook ps3 directly to receiver is go to your connection settings on your ps3 menu and change your connection method to digital optical cable.
if you have no optional external speaker on the ps3 you may have an earphone socket which can be connected to your tv's pc sound input via a 3.5mm or 6.5mm jack plugs.
