The bumper bar accessory is only suitable for 2012 + 2013 model Quinny Zapp Xtra. This model will have obvious mounting points near the fold knuckles of the chassis on the seat unit itself for the bumper bar to fit into. If you have a 2011 model Quinny Zapp Xtra it will not have these mounting points as it is not compatible with the bumper bar.
Yes it seems to be a design fault. Has happened twice on our Tobi seat.
To fix, lay the seat on its back.
Locate the 3 Torx head screws middle front and rear left and right. You'll need a Torx screwdriver or head of the correct size. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torx
Undo the screws, then pop the four catches at each corner with a flat-head screwdriver and remove the base.
Look at the recline mechanism, you'll see large bar at the rear (both sides) which is meant to be there. At the front, on one side or the other, you'll see a smaller bar which is part of the hinge for the recline handle. It's slipped sideways and into one of the recline mechanism slots.
Jiggle the recline handle and push the hinge bar back into the centre. It might help to use gravity - lay the seat on its side with the blocking bar uppermost. I can't see a way to prevent this slipping out again over time.
Snap the base back on and replace the Torx screws.
Some of these seats don't cater for removal of the cover and it is fixed on. If it fixed on you may have to upturn the seat and soak the cover in suitable container of cleansing product by hand. Or cut cover off and apply 'velcro' strip to the two parts to join them back together. If soiling is persisitent the velcro will allow quick removal in the future. I think the manufacturers want you to go buy a new seat once it gets soiled ( :
To remove the rear seat off an au falcon get in the rear of the car facing the opposite way to which you drive facing the rear seat. you need to slide your hands along down where the seat belt conectors are pulling it up abit. than you need to use quite a bit off force pulling it towards your self.
