OK. The most probable cause is that one of your sticks of ram went bad. is your tower beeping when you install the ram? If so this is likely the problem. Good Day.

My computer screen is black after logging in and i cant do anything i have windows vista

Hello

This usually occurs when your RAM is faulty and can actually happen to all computers running many different operating systems. Aside from installing a new operating system to test out the RAM, you can simply switch out your RAM.

Turn off your computer if it is on. If you are experiencing the black screen regularly, there is a good chance that it will not allow you to boot up your computer fully without shutting itself down. If this is the case, your computer is already more than likely off. Remove the power cord from the computer tower.

Remove the screws that hold the PC tower cover in place with a screwdriver. The tower cover usually only comes off on one side, so gently remove the side that is capable, and place it away from the tower. Users with laptops need to remove the RAM panel from the underside of the computer. This gives you access to the RAM for replacing.

Locate the RAM that is attached to the motherboard of your computer. You will see clasps that hold the RAM into place, and you may see more than one stick of RAM. Remove all of the RAM sticks by pushing the clasps away, unhooking the RAM from the motherboard. Click your new, replacement RAM into place, and cover the tower back up with the cover, or replace the laptop RAM panel.

Hook up the power cable or place the battery back in, and power on your computer. You now see that your computer is working without the black screen appearing. If you have more than one stick of RAM, turn the computer off, and remove the power cords and battery. Insert one old RAM stick, and cover the tower back up, replace the power cord or battery, and turn on your computer. Check to make sure it does not present you with the blue screen. One by one, reinsert the old RAM sticks into your computer, and test your computer for stability. Once you are presented with the black screen, remove the last old RAM stick that you inserted, and your screen problems are gone.

I want to add additional RAM to my Veriton 1000 PC where can I find a HowTo or Installation Guide ?

Here is the memory information on your system:

http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Veriton%201000

A total of 2 slots each capable of a 1 GB RAM module

Here is the user guide for the system:

http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/data/7117/documents/VT1000_UG_ENG.pdf

Adding RAM is simple. Unplug all cables from the tower, then press and hold the power button on the front of the tower to release any stored power.

It appears that 1 screw holds the side panel on (it is on the back) and then removed the side panel. This should give you access to the RAM slots on the motherboard.
